AIIMS Nagpur has released a notification to fill 1 Project Technical Support III post for a DHR-funded research project titled "Development and Evaluation of Opportunistic Screening Strategy for Chronic Kidney Disease in Central India: A Mixed-Methods Implementation Research", led by Dr. Sujiv Akkilagunta (Principal Investigator). This is a project-based contract role initially for 6 months, extendable up to 2 years depending on project requirements and your performance, with contract renewal based on performance evaluation by the project investigator and approval of the Director. This is not a regular AIIMS Nagpur or DHR post, and your experience here does not entitle you to claim permanent employment from either AIIMS Nagpur or DHR. If you wish to resign from the post, you need to give 30 days' notice, and your tenure will automatically end once the project duration is completed.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: Three-year graduate degree in Medical Social Work, Community Development, Social Welfare, Medical field, or B.Sc in Community Health/Life Sciences, along with three years of field-based research experience.
- Alternate Qualification: Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject such as Medical Social Work or MPH (Master of Public Health) also qualifies you for this post.
- Preferred: A PhD in a relevant field is desirable, though not mandatory — candidates with higher qualifications than the minimum can also apply.
- Language: You must be able to speak fluently in English, Marathi, and Hindi, since the work involves community fieldwork across Nagpur district.
- If you are currently working on an ICMR/DHR sanctioned research project, you must submit a No-Objection Certificate from your Principal Investigator.
Age Limit
- The maximum age limit for this post is 35 years.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get up to 5 years relaxation, OBC candidates get up to 3 years relaxation.
- Candidates with prior experience working in a Government Research Organization may get up to 5 years relaxation on a case-to-case basis, decided by DG, ICMR/Head of the Institution.
Salary
- Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 28,000 per month plus HRA (20% of basic).
- Apart from the consolidated salary and HRA, no other allowances are admissible, and no TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
Selection Process
The selection will be done in the following stages:
- Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on qualification, additional qualifications, and work experience.
- Written/Skill Test (if required): A written or skill test may be conducted before the interview if a high volume of applications is received.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an in-person interview. Online interviews are not permitted since a written test may also be conducted.
The tentative interview date is 12 August 2026, and the date/venue will be communicated 1-2 weeks after the application deadline.

Responsibilities
- Support field-based data collection for the chronic kidney disease screening project in Nagpur district
- Coordinate with community health workers during survey and screening activities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for the DHR-funded project
- Travel across rural and urban areas of Nagpur district as required by the project
- Assist the Principal Investigator with day-to-day project coordination
- Prepare periodic progress reports on project activities
- Follow project protocols and ethical guidelines during fieldwork
