All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Madurai has released a vacancy circular to fill 1 Clinical Psychologist post (Unreserved) on a direct recruitment basis. AIIMS Madurai is a Central Autonomous Organisation under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The initial place of posting is Government Medical College, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, which is the temporary campus, and may be shifted later as the AIIMS Madurai project progresses.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification (Essential)

• M.A. / M.Sc in Psychology with M.Phil in Clinical Psychology
• At least 2 years of experience in Clinical Psychology (gained after completing the qualification)

Desirable Qualification

• Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from a recognised university or institution

Other Requirement

• You must be a citizen of India.
• You will work in shifts and can be posted on rotation in casualty, ward, OPD, or camps as per hospital needs. The probation period is 2 years.

Age Limit

• You must be between 21 and 35 years old as on the last date of receipt of application.
• PwBD: 10 years of age relaxation for persons with benchmark disabilities (40% or more).
• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per DoPT rules.
• Government Servants: Up to 5 years relaxation as per Government of India instructions (conditions apply).
• No age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates applying against this unreserved vacancy.

Salary

• This is a Group A post in Pay Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (entry pay Rs. 56,100 per month).
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is mainly through interview, with a screening step if many applications come in.

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on qualification, desirable qualification, and experience.
2. Screening Test (if needed): If a large number of applications are received, a screening test may be held to shortlist candidates.
3. Interview (100 marks): You must score a minimum of 50 marks out of 100 to be considered suitable.
4. Document Verification: Produce all originals at the time of interview.

• Assess and diagnose patients with psychological and mental health conditions
• Conduct psychological tests and prepare detailed reports
• Provide counselling and therapy to patients and their families

• Work in shifts and attend OPD, ward, casualty, and health camps as needed
• Support awareness and rehabilitation programmes run by the hospital
