AIIMS Kalyani, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has released a notification for 84 Junior Resident (Non-Academic) posts across its various departments. The engagement is on a tenure basis for 6 months, and candidates who have already completed two terms of Junior Residency (Non-Academic) elsewhere are not eligible. A Written Exam followed by a Personal Interview will decide selection, with the written exam tentatively scheduled for 8 September 2026. AIIMS Kalyani was established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) with the aim of correcting regional imbalance in quality tertiary healthcare and building self-sufficiency in graduate, postgraduate and higher medical education across the country. This is a good opportunity for MBBS graduates who passed within the last three years and want hands-on clinical experience at a premier government medical institute.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: MBBS degree from an institution recognized by the NMC, with completed internship and registration under a State Medical Council.
• Passing Year: You must have passed MBBS (including internship) not earlier than 3 years before 24 August 2026.
• Not Eligible: Candidates who have already completed two terms of Junior Residency (Non-Academic) at AIIMS or elsewhere cannot apply. Experience in Army services, Central Health Services, or private nursing homes/practice counts as equivalent.
• Reservation: Out of 84 posts, 34 are UR, 8 EWS, 23 OBC, 13 SC and 6 ST, with 3 posts additionally reserved for PwBD candidates on a horizontal basis.
• In-service candidates: If you work in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSU, you must submit a No Objection Certificate from your employer, or you will not be permitted for the interview.
• Eligibility Cut-off: All candidates completing their qualifying eligibility criteria by 24 August 2026 will be considered eligible.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 33 years as on the last date of application submission (24 August 2026).
• Age Relaxation: PwBD candidates get 10 years, SC/ST candidates get 5 years and OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation.
• No age relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against unreserved vacancies.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month under Pay Level 10 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
• You will also get allowances as applicable to Junior Residents at AIIMS.

• SC / ST / EWS: Rs. 500
• PwBD: No fee
• Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of "AIIMS Kalyani Internal Resources Account", payable at Kalyani. Fee once paid will not be refunded.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Written Exam: Tentatively scheduled for 8 September 2026 in the Examination Hall, Ground Floor, Auditorium Building, AIIMS Kalyani.
2. Personal Interview: Only candidates who qualify in the written exam will be called for interview. Final selection is based purely on your performance in the personal interview.

Your original certificates — MBBS degree, internship completion, medical registration, date of birth and caste certificates — will be verified at the time of the written exam/interview.

This is a tenure engagement — it automatically ends after 6 months and does not entitle you to regular appointment or permanent absorption at the Institute. You can leave by giving one month notice or salary in lieu of it. If selected, you must join within 30 days of the offer of appointment, and no extension for joining will be considered. You will have to work in shifts, including postings at the Trauma & Emergency Medicine department, and private practice of any kind is not allowed during this engagement.

• Provide clinical care to patients under the guidance of senior doctors
• Manage ward duties including rounds, case sheets and patient monitoring
• Assist in diagnosis, treatment planning and emergency care
• Work in rotational shifts including night duty and Trauma & Emergency postings
• Maintain accurate medical records and discharge summaries
• Coordinate with nursing staff and other departments for patient management
• Follow hospital protocols, infection control and safety guidelines
