AIIMS Guwahati Faculty Recruitment 2026

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati (AIIMS Guwahati) has invited applications for 64 Faculty positions across various departments. This recruitment is under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Salary and Allowances

Salary follows the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC) pay matrix. In addition to basic pay, you will get:

• Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) as per central government norms
• Dearness Allowance (DA)
• House Rent Allowance (HRA)
• Transport Allowance (TA)

Who Can Apply - Qualification

• You must have MBBS degree recognised by the Medical Council of India (now NMC)
• You must also have a postgraduate degree: MD / MS / DNB in the relevant subject
• For super-speciality posts: M.Ch. or D.M. degree is needed

Experience Required

• Professor: At least 14 years of teaching or research experience after postgraduation
• Additional Professor: At least 10 years of experience
• Associate Professor: At least 6 years of experience
• Assistant Professor: At least 3 years of experience

Age Limit

• Professor and Additional Professor: Maximum 58 years
• Associate Professor and Assistant Professor: Maximum 50 years

Note: Age relaxation for reserved categories as per Government of India rules.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in two stages:

1. Bio-data screening (shortlisting based on qualifications and experience)
2. Personal interview of shortlisted candidates

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in the assigned department
• Conduct clinical duties and manage patient care in the hospital
• Carry out research work and publish findings in reputed medical journals
• Guide junior faculty, residents, and research scholars
• Participate in academic activities, seminars, and workshops
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental administration
• Follow all AIIMS rules, regulations, and patient safety protocols
