AIIMS New Delhi Project Research Scientist II and Lab Technician Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The Department of Psychiatry at AIIMS New Delhi has invited applications for 2 purely contractual research positions under an ICMR-funded research project titled "Developing an integrated Profiling and Multi-OMICS" related to Major Depressive Disorder. The project duration is 36 months. The initial appointment is for one year and is extendable based on performance and project requirements. Freshers and experienced biotech/MLT candidates can apply through email only.

Who Can Apply?

For Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical):

• Essential: Postgraduate degree in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry or related field with 3 years of research experience, OR a PhD
• Desirable: PhD with experience in clinical data management and wet-lab molecular biology techniques. Candidates with knowledge of data analysis and bioinformatics are also encouraged to apply.

For Project Technical Support II (Lab Technician):

• Essential: Three-year graduate degree in MLT/DMLT or equivalent + 2 years' experience in the relevant field
• Desirable: Phlebotomist with experience in molecular techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, Western blotting, Cell culture, etc.

Age Limit

• Project Research Scientist II: Up to 40 years
• Project Technical Support II (Lab Technician): Up to 30 years
• Age is reckoned as on the last date of CV submission

Salary

• Stipend/salary is paid as per ICMR guidelines applicable to each post
• Project Research Scientist II typically draws between Rs. 67,000 and Rs. 85,000 per month (consolidated) plus HRA where applicable, as per ICMR norms
• Project Technical Support II (Lab Technician) draws around Rs. 32,000 to Rs. 36,000 per month (consolidated) plus HRA where applicable, as per ICMR norms
• Final emoluments are decided as per the ICMR rates in force at the time of appointment.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection is purely interview based:
