Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) Field Supervisor Recruitment 2026

The Centre for Cancer Epidemiology at ACTREC, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, has released Advertisement No. CCE/Advt/274/2026 for the post of Field Supervisor on a project basis. ACTREC is a Grant-in-Aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, and functions as the research and academic wing of the Tata Memorial Centre — one of India's premier cancer care and research institutions. As a Field Supervisor, you will oversee community-based cause-of-death data collection activities across the Mumbai region and coordinate closely with municipal health authorities, health facilities, and community stakeholders. This is a project post initially for 6 months or till the project continues, whichever is earlier, and selection is entirely through a walk-in interview with no written exam — a good fit for public health or social work graduates who want hands-on field experience at one of India's leading cancer research institutions.

The Centre for Cancer Epidemiology runs population-based cancer registries and community health surveillance programs across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. A Field Supervisor plays a central role in ensuring that ground-level health data — including cause-of-death information — is collected accurately, verified, and reported on time, which directly feeds into public health planning and cancer research at ACTREC.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need to be a graduate from a recognized university. There is no restriction on the stream of graduation, though candidates from public health, social work, or life sciences backgrounds are typically well-suited to this role.
  • Experience: You need a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Health Worker, Field Supervisor, or in community/public health related field activities.
  • Skills: You need good communication and interpersonal skills, along with proficiency in MS Office applications and report preparation, since the role involves regular documentation and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
  • Desirable: Experience in community-based health surveys, public health projects, data collection, or monitoring and supervision activities.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of local language(s) and familiarity with the Mumbai municipal health system, which will help you liaise more effectively with local authorities and communities.

Salary

  • You will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 30,000 per month for this project position.
  • The engagement is initially for 6 months or till the project continues, whichever is earlier. There is no mention of a fixed extension beyond this period in the notification, so plan accordingly.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done in the following stages:

  1. Document Verification: Bring your bio-data and original certificates for verification at the venue before the interview.
  2. Walk-In Interview: A panel from the Centre for Cancer Epidemiology will assess your qualifications, field experience, and communication skills.

Since there is no written test, your prior field experience and how well you explain your past community health work during the interview will matter the most.
