ABGH Junior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Acharyashree Bhikshu Government Hospital (ABGH), run by the Government of NCT of Delhi at Moti Nagar, New Delhi, is filling Junior Resident posts on an ad hoc basis. This is a short-term residency: you start with a spell of 89 days that can be extended, but your total Junior Residency, counting any earlier stint anywhere, cannot cross one year.

This round has no unreserved seat — every post is earmarked for a reserved category, although an unfilled reserved seat can pass to a general candidate for an 89-day term. Unlike most walk-ins, ABGH picks residents through an MCQ-based written test followed by an interview, so come ready for an exam. The drive suits fresh MBBS graduates who finished internship within the last two years and hold Delhi Medical Council registration.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: 89 days at first, extendable; the cap is one year of Junior Residency in total, including earlier regular or ad hoc service in any recognised institution.
• Internship window: You must have finished internship on or before 27 October 2026, but not more than two years before that date.
• DMC registration: A valid Delhi Medical Council registration is needed. The DMC acknowledgement slip is accepted for now, but you must show the certificate when you join.
• Reserved-category certificates: Only OBC and EWS certificates issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi are accepted. OBC candidates need a Non-Creamy Layer certificate for the current financial year, and every category certificate must be issued on or before the interview date.
• Disability reservation: 3% of seats are reserved for persons with disabilities as per rules.
• Joining: You get 7 working days from the offer letter to join. The offer lapses after that and no extension is given.
• Medical fitness: Appointment depends on a fitness check by the ABGH Staff Physician and verification of your degree, age, caste, DMC and internship papers.
• Waiting list: Valid until the next interview or six months from the result, whichever comes first. The list of fresh candidates is used before the second list.
• Working elsewhere: If you hold a regular job, bring an NOC from your current employer.
• No TA/DA is paid for attending the test or interview.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form. Fill in the application proforma annexed to the notice — every column, since incomplete forms can be rejected — and submit it with self-attested copies by hand or by post to the Office of the Medical Superintendent, ABGH, Moti Nagar, New Delhi-110015.

On test day, report to the Conference Hall, 3rd floor, ABGH, Moti Nagar between 9:00 am and 9:45 am. The notice's opening paragraph also mentions a 9:30 am to 12:00 noon window for the same day, so arrive early. Carry your original certificates and ID for verification; the interview time is announced after the written test.
