AAI Medical Consultant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Airports Authority of India (AAI) is engaging a Medical Consultant (Non-Specialist Doctor) at its Southern Region headquarters in Chennai. You will support the medical service for AAI staff, Central Industrial Security Force personnel and their dependents through a temporary engagement.

The appointment combines work at the designated medical inspection room with support for airport medical needs. The notice includes a separate duties charter and code of conduct, which form part of the terms you accept for the engagement.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Length of engagement: The appointment is for one year and may be extended. Extension is possible, but the notice does not promise it.
• Employment status: This is a temporary consultancy arrangement. You cannot use this engagement as a basis for claiming a regular AAI appointment later.
• Duty schedule: You will work six hours on working days. Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted holidays are excluded from the normal schedule, while airport emergencies may call for attendance at short notice.
• Administrative control: You will report within the medical-centre arrangement at AAI's Southern Region headquarters. The notice places the consultant under the medical centre's officer in charge, or another authority notified by AAI.
• Leave and employee benefits: The engagement does not provide leave or the benefits available to regular AAI employees. Provident fund, benevolent fund and group insurance benefits are specifically excluded.
• Charges to patients: You cannot charge AAI or CISF personnel, or their dependents, for consultations or other services covered by this engagement.
• Personal service: You must provide the medical service yourself. You cannot pass the assignment to another doctor.
• Professional conduct: Do not seek or accept gifts from employees, or gifts, commissions or bonuses linked to referring beneficiaries to outside medical providers. The code also calls for courteous treatment and compliance with applicable conduct rules.
• Medical liability: AAI states that it will not become a party to disputes arising from medical negligence or lapses in treatment. Read this clause carefully alongside the duties charter before accepting the engagement.
• Ending the engagement: AAI may end the contract without giving a reason. Breach of the accepted terms or conduct harmful to AAI can also lead to termination; you must give one month's advance notice if you wish to leave.

Receipt at AAI matters: applications sent by another mode, or received after the stated deadline, will not be considered. Your signed acceptance of the engagement terms, duties charter and code of conduct forms part of the prescribed application.

• Provide consultations, prescribe medicines, give injections and dress wounds for AAI and CISF personnel and their dependents.
• Attend the outpatient service and treat emergencies brought to the medical inspection room during duty hours.
• Inspect canteens, the fire station, medical rooms and office premises for hygiene.
• Keep first-aid kits and medical equipment in working order.
• Check medical bills and advise on treatment costs and admissibility of claims.
• Support the local medical committee in assessing hospitals, laboratories and diagnostic centres for empanelment.
• Give preventive vaccinations and issue medical leave certificates when appropriate.
• Attend airport emergencies at short notice and conduct breath-analyser examinations when required.
