National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Guwahati (NIPER Guwahati) CEO Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

NIPER Guwahati, established in 2008, is the only pharmaceutical sciences institute in the North-Eastern Region of India, offering high-quality pharmaceutical education and research with a focus on natural and synthetic products of the region. It is recruiting a CEO for its Bio-NEST Incubation Centre under Advertisement No. NIPERG/Project-Rectt./2026/05/Re/10, dated 30 July 2026. The centre, called Bio-NEST (North-Eastern Societal aspect for Translational Phytopharmaceutical/Herbal Research), is funded by BIRAC under the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, and focuses on translational phytopharmaceutical and herbal research startups from the region. Candidates with a Ph.D and 5 years of incubation experience, or an MBA with 10 years of managerial experience, can apply for this leadership role. The appointment is purely contractual and does not create any claim over a regular Institute post.

Who Can Apply?

Option A - For Doctorate Holders:

• You need a Doctorate (Ph.D) in Life Sciences or allied sciences from a recognized university.
• You should have at least 5 years of experience in Technology Business Incubators, Start-ups, Innovation Management, or Academic/Research organizations.

Option B - For MBA Holders:

• You need a Master's Degree in Business Management from a recognized university.
• You should have at least 10 years of managerial experience across 2-3 sectors such as Industry, CRO, Technology Business Incubators, Start-ups, or Venture Capital Firms in Technology Sectors.

Common Requirements:

• Experience in writing incubation policy documents and knowledge of the start-up and entrepreneur ecosystem
• Proactive networking skills with industry players and other incubation centers
• Desirable: A Ph.D in Life Sciences/Allied Areas and experience working at a science and technology-driven start-up incubator
• Nationality: Only candidates of Indian Nationality can apply.
• Documentation: Applications without relevant supporting documents (self-attested copies of date of birth, degrees, certificates, mark sheets, and experience certificates) will be rejected.
• If you are employed in a Government organization, CFTI, Autonomous Institution, or University, you must apply through the proper channel, or produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview.

Age Limit

• You should not be more than 45 years old as on the last date of application (14 August 2026).
• Age Relaxation: Candidates from reserved categories get age relaxation as per Government of India norms.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Screening of Applications: The Screening/Selection Committee will shortlist candidates based on the qualifications and experience submitted in the online application.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. Government employees must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview.

Note: The list of shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the Institute website, and intimations will be sent only by email. NIPER Guwahati reserves the right not to fill this post in case of exigency. Once appointed, the appointment is co-terminus with the project and gives no claim to regularization against any Institute post.
