Post-wise Duties

Professor and Additional Professor

You will provide senior academic, clinical and research leadership, guide specialist services, mentor junior faculty and help shape departmental standards. Depending on your discipline, you may also supervise complex patient care, postgraduate training and collaborative research.

Associate Professor and Assistant Professor

You will teach medical students, support clinical or diagnostic services, take part in research and help develop the department's day-to-day academic work. Your responsibilities will reflect the specialty and the institute's teaching-hospital needs.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Rolling recruitment: the advertisement remains active for its stated period, and AIIMS Guwahati may announce later cut-offs for unfilled or newly available posts.
• Vacancy position: the advertised distribution is provisional and includes backlog positions; the institute may vary it under applicable Government of India rules.
• Whole-time service: private practice is prohibited, and appointees may be deployed to rural, urban or other health centres attached to the institute.
• Probation: selected faculty serve a two-year probation period and fall under the institute's service rules and the applicable pension framework.
