Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), a Fortune Global 500 Maharatna PSU, has released Advertisement No. IOCL/MKTG/NR/APPR/2026-27/1 to engage Technician, Graduate and Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 at its Marketing Division locations across Northern India. The drive covers 14 discipline codes spread over 9 states and Union Territories, from Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Diploma holders to ITI trades, graduates and Data Entry Operators. No written exam or interview is required — this makes it one of the easiest entry points into a reputed PSU. Freshers as well as candidates who haven't completed a previous apprenticeship in the same trade can apply.

Who Can Apply?

Technician Apprentice (Diploma Disciplines):

• You need a 3-year regular full-time Diploma in the relevant Engineering discipline from an AICTE/UGC recognized institute.
• Minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates on reserved seats).

Trade Apprentice (ITI Trades):

• You need Matric plus a regular full-time 2-year ITI course (NCVT/SCVT recognized) in the relevant trade.

Graduate Apprentice:

• You need a regular full-time Graduate degree in any discipline (BBA/BA/B.Com/B.Sc) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD).

Trade Apprentice - Data Entry Operator:

• You need Class 12th pass (but below graduate level).
• Skill Certificate Holder category additionally needs a 'Domestic Data Entry Operator' Skill Certificate from a recognized awarding body.

Qualification acquired through part-time, correspondence, or distance learning is NOT eligible for any discipline. You can apply for only one discipline code — applying for more than one gets your application rejected.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 24 years old as on 31 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years (up to 29 years); OBC-NCL candidates get 3 years (up to 27 years).
• PwBD: Additional relaxation of up to 10 years for General, 15 years for SC/ST, and 13 years for OBC-NCL PwBD candidates.

Salary

• You will get the statutory stipend as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprentices Rules, 1992, based on your discipline and category.
• IOCL (MD), Northern Region pays an extra Rs. 2,500 per month towards miscellaneous expenses, over and above the statutory stipend.
• For Graduate and Technician Apprentices, part of the stipend is credited via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT); Trade Apprentices get their full stipend directly from IOCL.
• Up to Rs. 3,000 is reimbursed for tests/investigations during your pre-engagement medical examination, on submitting receipts.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test or interview for this apprenticeship drive. Selection happens in these steps:

1. Merit List: Prepared from the percentage of marks you scored in your qualifying exam. Ties are broken by date of birth (older candidate preferred), then matriculation marks.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are called to verify original certificates and testimonials.
3. Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness Test: You must be medically fit as per IOCL's pre-engagement medical standard.
4. Offer of Engagement: Issued to candidates who clear document verification and the medical test.

How to Apply

1. Register online at the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) if you're applying for a Trade Apprentice or Data Entry Operator post, or the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) for Technician or Graduate Apprentice posts.
2. Log in with your User ID/Email ID and complete your profile (personal, educational, category details).
3. Apply against IOCL (Marketing Division) - Northern Region using Establishment ID NATS-NDLSDC000005 or NAPS-E05200700003.
4. Additionally submit your details, preferred state, and three preferred locations through the linked Microsoft Office Form mentioned in the official notification.
5. Make sure both your portal application and the Microsoft Form are submitted before the deadline.
