Tenure and Posting

• Normal deputation tenure: 3 years, and it may be extended as per Government and RITES rules.
• Posting location: Selected officers can be posted at any RITES project or office in India or abroad.
• Reporting: Officers will work under RITES project, technical and management systems while continuing to follow applicable deputation rules.

Age Limit

• Immediate absorption: IRSME officer should not be more than 55 years as on the last date of submission.
• Deputation: IRSME officer should not be more than 57 years as on the last date of submission.
• Age reference date: use the extended last date, 5 July 2026.

Salary

• The post is linked to 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-11.
• On deputation, the officer gets parent pay plus deputation allowance and other perks as admissible under Railway Board guidelines.
• RITES also mentions company or leased accommodation as per entitlement for officers who join on deputation.
• The structured salary fields use the current Level-11 range of Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month for search and filtering.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

RITES will consider applications through a marks-based assessment and committee process. There is no written examination in the vacancy circular.

1. Application Scrutiny: RITES checks service, eligibility, age, forwarding, vigilance/DAR records and APARs.
2. Deputation Assessment: For deputation, the marking criteria include education 15 marks, vigilance/DAR record 10 marks, APAR performance 25 marks and interview 50 marks, for a total of 100 marks. A score of 60% or above is required for consideration.
3. Immediate Absorption Assessment: For immediate absorption, the marking criteria include education 20 marks, vigilance/DAR record 10 marks, APARs 25 marks, work experience 15 marks, length of service 10 marks and suitability 20 marks. A score of 75% or above is required for consideration.
4. Interview / Selection Committee: Domain knowledge, work experience, managerial competency and overall suitability are assessed by the committee.
5. Document Verification: Forwarded application, APARs for the past 5 years, No Objection and vigilance/DAR clearance must reach RITES within the extended deadline.
