HAL Director (Operations) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence. PESB has issued Advertisement No. 68/2026 dated 09 June 2026 for the Board-level post of Director (Operations). This is a senior leadership role in one of India's most important aerospace and defence manufacturing organisations.

HAL works across aircraft, helicopter, aero-engine, avionics, maintenance, repair, overhaul, space vehicle support and related defence production areas. The official job description states that HAL had revenue from operations of Rs. 32,250 crore for FY 2025-26 on a provisional and unaudited basis, with an order book above Rs. 2,54,000 crore as on 31 March 2026. Educational Qualification

• Qualification: You must be an Engineering graduate from a recognised university or institute.
• Preferred branches: Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Computer Science, Metallurgy, Chemical or Production Engineering will be preferred.
• Desirable qualification: A postgraduate degree in one of the above engineering disciplines is desirable.

Experience

• Core experience: You need senior-level technical or operational experience, with at least 5 years during the last 10 years in the aeronautical industry.
• Desirable experience: Experience in manufacture, maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft, aero-engines, accessories or avionics is desirable.
• Added advantage: Experience in the defence industry will be an added advantage.

Employment Status

• You must be employed in a regular capacity on the date of application and on the date of interview.
• You can apply if you are from an eligible CPSE, Central Government Group A service, Armed Forces, All India Service, public sector bank, financial institution, autonomous body, State PSE, private company, joint venture or federation as per PESB rules.
• State PSE, private company, JV and federation applicants must meet the Rs. 10,000 crore average annual turnover condition mentioned in the job description.

Age Limit

• Minimum age is 45 years as on the date of vacancy, which is 01 May 2026.
• The age of superannuation for this post is 60 years.
• Internal candidates: You need at least 2 years residual service as on the date of vacancy.
• Other candidates: You need at least 3 years residual service as on the date of vacancy.

Salary

• Pay scale: Rs. 1,80,000 to Rs. 3,40,000 per month under IDA pattern.
