Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute (PAJANCOA), Karaikal is hiring 1 Consultant in the grade of Superintendent on a contract basis. PAJANCOA Consultant (Superintendent Grade) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute (PAJANCOA & RI), Karaikal — sponsored by the Government of Puducherry, affiliated to Pondicherry University, accredited by ICAR, recognised by UGC, and approved as STAR College by DBT — has invited applications from retired Superintendents for engagement as Consultant on contract basis. The fee will be Last Pay Drawn minus pension, in line with Finance Department, Puducherry guidelines.

Who Can Apply?

  • Eligibility: You must be a retired Government Official who served in the grade of Superintendent or below.
  • Experience: Work experience in the grade of Superintendent under Puducherry Administration is required.
  • Preference: Candidates with experience in Government-run Educational Institutions and Autonomous Educational Institutes of the Government of Puducherry will get preference.
  • Key skills needed: Handling Court Cases, Disciplinary Cases, RTI matters, Public Petitions, Establishment work, and Accounts-related duties.
  • Vigilance clearance: You must have been clear from a vigilance angle at the time of retirement.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 65 years
  • You must not have crossed 65 years of age on the date of application.

Salary

  • Consolidated fee: Last Pay Drawn minus Pension (as per Finance Department, Puducherry guidelines)
  • No additional allowances are admissible.
  • TA on Official Tour: Will be paid at the rate applicable to a regular Government officer holding an equal post.
  • Leave: 12 days in a calendar year on pro-rata basis.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

  1. Shortlisting by the Consultancy Evaluation Committee: All applications received will be screened by the Evaluation Committee.
  2. Concurrence of Finance Department: The shortlist is forwarded to the Finance Department, Puducherry for concurrence.
  3. Approval by Competent Authority: Final approval will be given by the competent authority of PAJANCOA.
  4. Agreement Execution: The selected candidate must sign an Agreement (Annexure-II) before joining.

Responsibilities

  • Handle notification and amendments of Recruitment Rules
  • Prepare replies to pending AG and Internal Audit Paras
  • Draft counter affidavits for court cases involving the Institute
  • Manage disciplinary cases and prepare related documentation
  • Reply to RTI applications and public petitions in a timely manner
  • Prepare MACP (Modified Assured Career Progression) proposals for staff
  • Assist the Dean with establishment and accounts-related duties as assigned

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Retired Government Official in the grade of Superintendent or below, with work experience in Puducherry Administration

Preferred Qualification

Work experience in Government-run Educational Institutions or Autonomous Educational Institutes of Government of Puducherry

Required Skills

Court cases handling, disciplinary cases, RTI matters, public petitions, establishment work, accounts duties, MACP proposals

18 - 65 years (as on 23 May 2026)

Allowances
