NILERD Consultant (Finance & Accounts) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development (NILERD) — an autonomous organisation under NITI Aayog, Government of India — has invited applications from experienced finance professionals for the post of Consultant (Finance & Accounts). The engagement is initially for one year, extendable annually based on performance, but not beyond five years. Applications are accepted by email only — there is no written exam.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Master's degree in Commerce / Finance / Accounts from a recognised university, OR CA (Chartered Accountant) / ICMA.
• Experience: 8 to 15 years of working experience in a Finance or Accounts Division in any Autonomous Institute, PSU, Government Department, or reputed Private Organisation.
• Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of India.
• Skills required: Knowledge of accounting principles, GST and Income Tax compliance, General Financial Rules (GFR), accounting and payroll software, and reconciliation processes.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years at the time of engagement.
• The engagement will not extend beyond the age of 60 years.

Salary

• Consolidated monthly remuneration: Rs. 80,000 per month.
• TDS will be deducted as applicable. A TDS certificate is issued by NILERD on demand.
• No DA, HRA, CGHS, transport, medical reimbursement, or other allowances admissible to regular employees.
• Leave: 1.5 days per completed month on pro-rata basis. Unavailed leave cannot be carried forward.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is in two stages:

1. Scrutiny: Applications received through the open advertisement are scrutinised by a Scrutiny Committee on the basis of educational qualifications and relevant experience.
2. Interview: The Selection Committee interacts with shortlisted candidates and recommends a panel based on a minimum benchmark of marks.

Police Verification will be done after engagement. Negative police verification will lead to immediate termination of contract.

• Assist in finalising books of accounts and preparing financial statements for NILERD
• Ensure timely filing of GST, Income Tax, and other statutory returns
• Conduct regular reconciliation of bank statements, ledgers, and accounts
• Prepare expenditure and receipt vouchers using accounting software
• Support internal and external audit processes and maintain audit documentation
• Maintain and update all ledgers in the accounting software regularly
• Apply General Financial Rules (GFR) to financial operations and procedures
• Operate and manage payroll processes using payroll software
