V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA), one of India's 12 Major Ports operating under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has invited applications for filling up 2 Assistant Engineer (Civil) vacancies by Deputation / Absorption method. The port is strategically located in Thoothukudi (Tuticorin), Tamil Nadu and handles container, bulk and coal cargo. This recruitment is open only to in-service candidates from Central/State Government Departments, PSUs and Autonomous Bodies eligible to apply on deputation/absorption.

Who Can Apply?

• Mode: Deputation / Absorption — open only to officers currently serving in Central / State Government Departments, PSUs or Autonomous Bodies.
• Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University / Institution (as per the eligibility conditions in the official VOCPA advertisement).
• Experience and Pay Scale: Must be holding analogous post on regular basis OR posts in the prescribed feeder grade with the required years of service as per the advertisement.
• Application Channel: Application must be submitted through proper channel with up-to-date ACRs, vigilance clearance, integrity certificate, and cadre clearance.

Salary

• Pay and allowances will be as per VOCPA service rules and the 7th Central Pay Commission applicable to Assistant Engineer (Civil) post at VOC Port.
• Deputation allowance is admissible as per Government of India rules.
• HRA, DA, TA and other allowances applicable to VOCPA employees.

Selection Process

1. Scrutiny of applications received through proper channel.
2. Review of service records, ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years.
3. Vigilance and integrity verification from the parent department.
4. Selection by competent committee based on merit, seniority and suitability as per deputation rules.
5. Document verification before issue of offer.
