Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is hiring 78 Civil Judges (Junior Division) for the Odisha Judicial Service, 2025. OPSC Civil Judge Recruitment 2026 - 78 Posts

Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced Advertisement No. 02 of 2026-27 for Civil Judge posts under the Law Department, Government of Odisha. The recruitment is for the Odisha Judicial Service and includes reservation for women and PwBD candidates. The Preliminary Written Examination is scheduled for 5 July 2026.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You need a Graduate Degree in Law from a recognised university or institution.
  • Experience: You must have at least 3 years of practice as an Advocate as on 1 April 2025.
  • Language: You must be able to speak, read and write Odia and should have passed Odia language at Middle English School standard or equivalent.
  • Other conditions: You must be an Indian citizen, of good character and sound health.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 23 and 42 years old as on 1 April 2025.
  • You should not have been born earlier than 2 April 1983 and not later than 1 April 2002.
  • SC / ST / SEBC / Women / Ex-servicemen: 5 years relaxation.
  • PwBD: 10 years relaxation in addition to applicable category relaxation.
  • Law Clerk / Research Assistant: 7 years relaxation as per the notification.

Salary

  • Pay scale: Rs. 77,840 to Rs. 1,36,520 per month.
  • You will also get Dearness Allowance and other allowances sanctioned by the Government of Odisha.
  • This is a regular judicial service post under the Odisha Judicial Service rules.

  • SC / ST / PwD: No fee
  • The fee is paid online and is refundable only as per the Odisha recruitment fee refund rules.

Selection Process

The selection has 3 stages:

  1. Preliminary Written Examination: Objective type screening test for 100 marks with 1.5 hours duration. The exam is scheduled for 5 July 2026.
  2. Main Written Examination: Descriptive exam with 2 compulsory papers and 3 optional papers. Each optional paper carries 150 marks.
  3. Interview / Viva Voce: Final interview round carrying 100 marks.

Final merit is prepared as per the Odisha Judicial Service examination rules and OPSC instructions.
