NIT Warangal Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) has released a JRF advertisement for the project Deep Acoustic Shield: Towards distributed active noise mitigation in neonatal intensive care unit employing deep learning framework integrated with mobile platform. The project is sponsored by ANRF-ARG and is linked to research in signal processing, artificial intelligence, IoT, machine learning and healthcare-related acoustic systems. This is a temporary research position for 3 years or until project closure, whichever happens earlier.

The selected JRF will work with Prof. Vasundhara and the project team. Performance will be reviewed every year. The notification also says the selected person may be eligible for PhD admission at NIT Warangal as per institute rules, but they must separately apply when the PhD advertisement opens.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• ECE route: You need B.Tech/B.E. or equivalent in Electronics and Communication Engineering and M.Tech/M.E. in ECE or equivalent with research areas in Signal Processing, Communication or Instrumentation.
• Bachelor's route: Engineering/Technology bachelor's degree holders can apply if they meet the higher marks/CGPA condition stated below.
• GATE: GATE qualification is highly preferred, but the PDF does not state it as mandatory.

Marks and CGPA Conditions

• UG and PG route - GEN / GEN-EWS / OBC-NCL: Minimum 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG level.
• UG and PG route - SC / ST / PwD: Minimum 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA at both UG and PG level.
• Bachelor's-only route - GEN / GEN-EWS / OBC-NCL: Minimum 70% marks or 7.5 CGPA out of 10.

Desirable Knowledge

• Research areas: Signal processing, advanced signal processing, artificial intelligence, IoT and machine learning.
• Tools: Experience with MATLAB and Python is preferable.
• Project fit: Interest in deep-learning-based active noise mitigation for neonatal intensive care settings will be useful.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years.
• Age Relaxation: Relaxation is applicable as per institute norms and guidelines.

Salary

• JRF fellowship: Rs. 37,000 per month.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
