MSEB Holding Company Ltd. (MSEBHCL) is hiring for the post of Director (Operations), MSEDCL — a Board-level position in Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. MSEB Holding Company Ltd. has issued Advertisement No. 07/2026 dated 18 May 2026 inviting applications from experienced and talented power sector professionals for the post of Director (Operations) in its subsidiary Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (MSEDCL). The incumbent will report directly to the Chairman & Managing Director. Candidates may apply on a regular contract basis, on deputation from Central/State Government and PSUs, or as Private Sector Executives from large listed companies.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification & Experience

• Qualification: You must be a Graduate Engineer in the relevant discipline.
• Total Experience: Minimum 20 years in the relevant field.
• Chief Engineer Experience: Minimum 5 years at Chief Engineer level, out of which at least 1 year must be at the level of one position below the Board in a State Electricity Board or in the Board of Directors of a power sector PSU.

Preferred Qualification

• MBA or equivalent degree from a reputed Management School (preference will be given).

For Private Sector Executives

• You must be working in a company with annual turnover above Rs. 500 crores.
• You should be at Board level or one position below the Board of Directors.
• Your company must be listed on a stock exchange.

Important Restriction

• If you have already held the post of Functional/Whole-time Director in MSEDCL for the maximum 2 terms (including any current/remaining term), you are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 60 years as on the date of publication of the advertisement (18 May 2026).
• Qualifications, experience and age may be relaxed by the Competent Selection Authority in deserving cases.

Salary & Compensation

• Compensation is negotiable and broadly comparable to similar-sized PSUs.
• For deputation candidates from Government / PSUs, remuneration is as per normal deputation rules.
• Residential Accommodation: Unfurnished accommodation can be provided at concessional rent (subject to availability). If not provided, HRA is paid as per company rules.

Selection Process

1. Preliminary Scrutiny: Applications are screened against the benchmarks set by the Selection Committee. Only shortlisted candidates are called for the next stage.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear for interview at their own expense. The number of candidates called will be commensurate with the vacancy.
3. Document Verification: Original documents are verified after final selection and before issuing the offer/appointment letter.

Mere possession of the prescribed qualification does not entitle you to be called for interview.

• Oversee electricity distribution operations across Maharashtra and ensure reliable power supply to consumers
• Drive performance improvement, reduce AT&C losses and strengthen the distribution network
• Provide strategic leadership in customer service, technical operations and field management
• Manage senior teams, build talent and instill a strong performance culture across distribution circles
• Represent MSEDCL before regulators, government bodies and stakeholders on operational matters
• Ensure compliance with electricity regulations, safety norms and Maharashtra Government policies
