Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You must be a Law Graduate (LL.B.) from a recognised university.
- Bar Enrolment: You must be an enrolled advocate with the Bar Council.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as an advocate practising in the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal or in the High Court of Bombay.
- Language: Working knowledge of Marathi, Hindi and English is required.

Age Limit
- Maximum age: 45 years.
- Age relaxation will be given to candidates from reserved categories as per Government of Maharashtra rules.
Salary
- Consolidated pay: Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 78,000 per month.
- Additional allowance: Rs. 8,000 per month for telephone, travel, stationery and xerox expenses.
- This is a fixed consolidated remuneration on contract — DA, HRA and other regular government allowances do not apply.

Selection Process
There is no written exam. Selection is done in the following stages:
- Application Screening: Your application form, qualification and experience certificates are checked against the eligibility criteria.
- Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview before a committee constituted by MPSC. Your knowledge of service law, tribunal practice and Maharashtra-related legal matters is tested.
- Document Verification: Original certificates, Bar Council enrolment, and proof of practice are verified before issuing the contract.

Responsibilities
- Represent MPSC in service matters before the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal and the Bombay High Court
- Draft pleadings, written statements, affidavits, rejoinders and replies on behalf of the Commission
- Prepare legal opinions on recruitment rules, examination disputes and selection matters
- Brief and assist Senior Counsel appearing for MPSC in important cases
- Maintain a clear record of cases, hearings and orders for the Commission
- Attend regular hearings in the tribunal and the high court within prescribed timelines
- Coordinate with MPSC officers to collect facts, files and documents needed for litigation
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Law Graduate (LL.B.) from a recognised university, enrolled advocate with minimum 5 years of practice in the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal or High Court
Preferred Qualification
Experience in service matters and constitutional law before tribunals
Required Skills
Knowledge of Marathi, Hindi and English; drafting; tribunal and high court practice; service jurisprudence
Age Limit
18 - 45 years
