Jammu and Kashmir Bank Chief Vigilance Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Jammu and Kashmir Bank (J&K Bank) has released notification JKB/HR/Rectt/2026-242 for the post of Chief Vigilance Officer on contract. The role is equivalent to General Manager (Scale VII) and is meant for senior Public Sector Bank officers with vigilance, disciplinary, and integrity-related work experience. The engagement is for 3 years with a yearly performance review, and the Bank may extend it later.

The selected officer will head the vigilance vertical at Corporate Headquarters, Srinagar, J&K. This is a senior leadership role, not an entry-level banking job, so the experience condition is strict.

The notification is mainly for officers who have already handled vigilance, disciplinary, accountability, or fraud-risk matters at a senior level in a Public Sector Bank. Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognised university or institute.
  • Current/retired level: You should be a serving General Manager of a Public Sector Bank, or retired from a Public Sector Bank at the level of General Manager or above.
  • Experience: You need at least 5 years of experience in vigilance or disciplinary matters.
  • Senior-level exposure: Out of the 5 years, at least 3 years should be at General Manager level or above.
  • Integrity condition: You should have a clean service record, with no major or minor penalty imposed during your service because of disciplinary proceedings.
  • Parent organisation rule: Officers cannot apply for the CVO post in their parent organisation.
  • Service record: The Bank expects an established record of integrity, professional competence, and organisational confidence.

  • Maximum age is 63 years as on the notification date, 13 May 2026.

Salary

  • Basic salary: Rs. 2,47,751 per month.
  • Annual basic salary: Rs. 29,73,012.
  • Annual variable pay: Rs. 8,60,470, paid as per the Bank's compensation policy and annual performance review.
  • Annual CTC: Around Rs. 57.36 lakh.
  • Facilities: Rent-free furnished accommodation at Srinagar, health insurance cover for self and dependents up to Rs. 50,000 annual premium, official car with driver, mobile handset entitlement up to Rs. 50,000, and laptop/tablet/office bag entitlement up to Rs. 1,92,000 for the 3-year contract.
  • Tax note: The value of perquisites will be calculated as per applicable income tax laws, and tax deductions must be borne by the engagee.

  • Advise senior management on vigilance, integrity, and disciplinary control issues
  • Coordinate with audit committees or board sub-committees when called for fraud-related matters
  • Maintain professional independence and avoid business decision-making forums where needed

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university/institute, with Public Sector Bank General Manager level experience in vigilance or disciplinary matters.

Preferred Qualification

Serving General Manager of a Public Sector Bank or retired Public Sector Bank General Manager/above with clean service record.
