Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, has released Advertisement No. 12949/HR/DCCS/GAD/ADV/2026/03 for the Advisor (C4I Systems) post. The selected expert will guide BEL teams on Electronic Warfare, cyber security, air defence network planning, simulation, testing, commissioning and validation. This is a high-level role for retired defence officers who can support BEL from both operational and research and development viewpoints.

Expertise Needed

• Electronic Warfare: Practical knowledge of EW systems and their operational use.
• Defence operations: Experience in technical operations planning and execution.
• Cyber and air defence: Knowledge of cyber security, AFNET, secure networks, air defence systems, fibre optic communication networks and simulation.
• C4I systems: Ability to guide requirement analysis, system conceptualisation, operational requirements and functional requirements.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 60 years as on 01 May 2026.
• BEL may consider post-retirement experience while deciding salary and related relaxation, based on the Selection Committee's decision.

Salary

• The salary will be linked to the officer's last basic pay at the time of superannuation from the previous government organisation for Pay Level 14 and above.
• For extension, BEL may increase the last drawn pay by 5% for the next one-year period, excluding conveyance component.
• If company transport is not used, conveyance reimbursement is Rs. 8,000 per month.
• TA/DA for official travel in India will be as applicable to the officer's equivalent GM/ED grade at retirement.

Work mode: The selected advisor will work in hybrid mode. BEL says the advisor may work from the unit, office, on-site location or residence, but at least 8 working days in a month must be from the unit, office or on-site location when business needs require it.

Tenure: The initial engagement is for 1 year. It may be extended year by year up to a maximum of 8 years or until the advisor reaches 68 years, whichever comes earlier. Extension depends on BEL business requirement and performance need.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

BEL will shortlist applications and call suitable candidates for interview.

2. Shortlisting: Only candidates meeting the required rank, age and experience conditions may be called.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will attend the interview, and the final result will be placed on the BEL website.
4. Offer by Email: The provisional offer of engagement will be sent to the selected candidate by email.
