Vikram Dev University, located in Jayapur, Koraput district of Odisha, has invited applications from retired Section Officers, Senior Assistants and Accountants for engagement against 9 vacant posts in its administrative and accounts wings. This is not a fresh government job but a re-engagement opportunity for retired staff with good service records, basic computer knowledge and physical fitness. No written exam is required — selection is through a walk-in interview only. This engagement suits recently retired officers who want a short-term assignment with fixed monthly remuneration, governed by the Finance Department, Government of Odisha's rules for engaging retired employees.

VDU is a growing state university under the Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha, with an automated library of 50,000+ books, over 8,000 students enrolled, and a 26+ acre campus. As the University expands its academic and administrative operations, it regularly engages experienced retired staff like Section Officers, Senior Assistants and Accountants to support its Registrar's office in establishment, accounts and file-handling work — while regular recruitment for these posts is separately processed.

Who Can Apply?

• Eligible posts: Retired Section Officer, retired Senior Assistant or retired Accountant from any Government office
• Age: You must be below 65 years of age
• Skills: You need basic computer knowledge
• Service Record: You must have a good service record, with no pending vigilance case, departmental proceeding or criminal prosecution, and should not have been penalised for misconduct in the last 5 years
• Other Condition: You should not be a member of any political party
• Fitness: You must be physically fit to discharge office duties

Age Limit

• You should be below 65 years of age to be considered for this engagement.
• Your engagement automatically ends once you turn 65 years, even if your one-year term has not finished.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 20,000 per month if your last pay level (before retirement) was between Level 5 and Level 10.
• You will get a consolidated remuneration of up to Rs. 35,000 per month if your last pay level was between Level 11 and Level 14.
• This is a fixed, consolidated amount — no separate DA, HRA or other allowances are payable, since this is a retired-employee engagement and not a regular appointment.
• The period spent under this engagement will not count as Government service for pension or other retirement benefits.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

VDU will select candidates purely through a walk-in interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held at the Registrar's Office on 20 July 2026 at 11:00 AM.
2. Document Verification: Bring your original certificates, service record proof and retirement order for on-the-spot verification.

The University reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning a reason, and can terminate your engagement at any time for unsatisfactory performance with one month's notice, or immediately in case of misconduct, misappropriation or negligence. If you wish to resign, you must give the Registrar one month's written notice. Your engagement will also be governed by the Odisha Government Servant Conduct Rules, 1957.

How to Apply

1. Collect or download the prescribed application format.
2. Fill in your personal details, designation and office at retirement, total service period, address and contact information.
3. Attach a self-attested copy of the first page of your Service Book or date-of-birth proof.
4. Attach a self-attested copy of your retirement order.
5. Carry the completed form along with original certificates to the Registrar's Office, Vikram Dev University, Jayapur on the day of the interview.
6. Report before 11:00 AM on 20 July 2026 — the interview venue is the Registrar's Office.
