Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) Assistant Environmental Engineer Recruitment 2026 - 19 Posts

TGPSC has released Notification No. 02/OG/PC/2026 dated 2 June 2026 for 19 State-level Assistant Environmental Engineer posts in the Telangana Pollution Control Board (TSPCB). The Government has raised the upper age limit by 10 years (from 34 to 44 years) for this recruitment, opening the door to more experienced engineering graduates. Since this is a State-level post, selection is on state-wide merit and local reservation rules do not apply. Candidates from Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental and related engineering backgrounds can apply, and the Commission conducts this recruitment under its constitutional powers as a Public Service Commission for the state, following the Telangana State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996.

All 19 posts are at the State Level cadre, and some vacancies are carried forward from earlier recruitment cycles as per government reservation rules. Unfilled or non-joining vacancies from this recruitment will similarly be carried forward to the next TGPSC recruitment cycle.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Civil / Mechanical / Chemical / Bio-Technology / Mining / Environmental Engineering from a recognized university, or AMIE (Sections A & B, Civil) equivalent.
• Alternate Qualification: B.Tech/B.E in any branch along with a PG degree in Environmental Engineering.
• Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India with good character and antecedents.
• Qualification Date: Your degree result must have been declared by the university on or before the notification date (2 June 2026).

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 44 years old as on 1 July 2026. This means you should not have been born after 1 July 2008, and not before 2 July 1982.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/BC/EWS candidates get 5 years, PwBD candidates get 10 years, Telangana Government employees get up to 5 years based on service length, and Ex-servicemen/NCC instructors get 3 years plus their length of service.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 54,220 to Rs. 1,33,630 per month under State Pay Level 1.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Telangana Government rules.

Application Fee

• Application Processing Fee (OC/BC): Rs. 1,000
• Application Processing Fee (SC/ST/PwD): Rs. 500
• Examination Fee (all applicants except unemployed candidates): Rs. 120
• Payment mode: online via Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.
• Once paid, the fee is not refunded or adjusted under any circumstances.

Selection Process

TGPSC will select candidates through the following stages:

1. Written Exam (Objective Type, CBRT/OMR mode): Two papers for a total of 450 marks. Paper I covers General Studies and General Abilities, and Paper II covers your Concerned Subject (Environmental Engineering).
2. Document Verification: Your certificates and eligibility documents are checked before the final merit list.
3. Medical Examination: You must be found medically fit for appointment, with no bodily defect or infirmity.

You can raise objections on the answer key within the stipulated window by paying Rs. 500 per question, which is refunded if your objection is upheld. If the exam is conducted in CBRT mode across multiple shifts, TGPSC will normalize your scores using a percentile-based method so that the merit list stays fair across shifts. If two or more candidates score equal marks, local status to Telangana, then age, and then qualifying exam performance are used as tie-breakers.

How to Apply

1. Go to the TGPSC website at tgpsc.gov.in and complete One-Time Registration (OTR) if you haven't already.
2. Click the online application link and log in with your TGPSC ID, date of birth and OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
3. Verify the details fetched from your OTR profile, such as name, date of birth, qualifications and category.
4. Select your preferred exam centre from Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Warangal or Nizamabad.
5. Preview your application carefully and click Save & Payment to pay the fee online.
6. Download and save your submitted application PDF, and note the Reference ID for future correspondence.
