SAIL DSP and ASP Advisor Recruitment 2026: Overview

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is engaging experienced former executives as Advisors for Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP) and Alloy Steels Plant (ASP). This is a short contractual assignment meant to keep specialised plant knowledge available for project execution, town services, steelmaking operations and crane reliability. The opportunity is designed for people who already understand SAIL systems and can guide serving teams from day one.

The DSP assignments support project-site coordination and essential township infrastructure, while the ASP assignments focus on expansion-linked operating plans and dependable crane maintenance. You would work as an experienced guide rather than enter through a general graduate recruitment route. Each assignment has its own technical focus, so your earlier department, retirement grade and hands-on plant background will decide which role fits.

Posts and Disciplines

• Projects Site Execution, Iron Zone-BF&SP: site supervision, contractor coordination, shutdown coordination, safety oversight and progress reporting for Iron Zone work.
• Town Engineering, Electrical: shutdown and maintenance work for high-voltage equipment and transmission lines, including HT and LT equipment testing and line inspection.
• Town Engineering, Water Supply Services: maintenance of large rising-main pipelines carrying water at high pressure, drawing on similar public-sector or steel-plant experience.
• SMS and Mills Planning and Operation: planning and operating support during AMR projects, including shutdown use, commissioning, stabilisation and integration with existing facilities.
• Crane Maintenance and Operation: technical guidance for crane reliability, recurring-defect analysis and measures that improve equipment availability.

Post-wise Duties

Projects Site Execution Advisor

You will coordinate daily site activity, contractors, resources and shutdown clearances while keeping project progress and safety controls visible to the responsible zone team.

Town Engineering Advisors

You will guide teams handling electrical distribution assets or water-supply pipelines. Your role is to help diagnose field problems, plan maintenance and apply the practical lessons from your earlier plant service.

SMS and Mills Advisor

You will support AMR project planning and commissioning, help sequence shutdown work and advise teams when new or modified facilities have to be integrated with running operations.

Crane Advisor

You will review recurring crane faults, guide maintenance decisions and help the plant improve crane availability and operating reliability.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Notice discrepancy: the opening paragraph says four DSP and two ASP advisors, while the detailed tables itemise three DSP and two ASP assignments. Check any SAIL clarification before choosing a post.
• Tenure: the first engagement is for six months. It may be extended for another six months and, with higher approval, considered for a further year.
• Mobility: SAIL may use an advisor in another area when company work needs it, and travel outside headquarters must be planned with the nodal officer.
• Conduct: you cannot work with a competing or connected business during the assignment and must keep company information confidential during and after the contract.
• Benefits: the engagement does not carry PF, gratuity or other employee benefits.
• Termination: either side may end the contract with 15 days' notice; SAIL can end it immediately for misconduct or unsatisfactory work.
