RITES Limited (RITES), a Government of India Miniratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has invited applications for Individual Consultants in the Civil Engineering discipline to work on bridge design assignments in Kolkata. RITES is known for executing large infrastructure projects across railways, highways, ports, airports and urban transport, both in India and abroad, and regularly engages experienced technical experts as CV-based consultants to strengthen its project teams. The recruitment covers four separate roles - a Senior Bridge Design Engineer for the main bridge, a Senior Design Review Engineer, a Senior Bridge Design Specialist, and two more Senior Bridge Design Engineers - all focused on major river bridges, ROBs, flyovers and underpasses on highway projects. These are CV-based consultancy engagements and not regular employment - selection is through document scrutiny and a personal interview, with no written exam. • Sr. Bridge Design Engineer - Main Bridge, 04-Lane Extradosed Cable Stayed (VC No. YP/63/26): 1 post, Rs. 2,25,000/month, tenure 36 months
• Sr. Design Review Engineer (VC No. YP/64/26): 1 post, Rs. 2,00,000/month, tenure 24 months
• Sr. Bridge Design Specialist - Viaduct & Other Structures (VC No. YP/65/26): 1 post, Rs. 2,25,000/month, tenure 16 months
• Sr. Bridge Design Engineer (VC No. YP/66/26): 2 posts, Rs. 2,00,000/month, tenure 12 months

All four roles are based at Kolkata, West Bengal. Note: The number of positions under each VC number may increase or decrease as per RITES' project requirement, without prior notice.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• Experience: You need a total of 7 years of experience, including a minimum of 5 years of specific experience in modelling, analysis and design of RCC and PSC long-span bridges on pile and well foundations, using MIDAS, Sofistik or STAAD software
• Area of Experience: Major river bridges, ROBs, flyovers/underpasses related to highway projects
• Training, internship, teaching, academic, fellowship or PhD research experience will not be counted towards your work experience.
• If your qualifying degree required a specialization, you must submit a certificate from your university/institution clearly stating the specialization.
• Your date of acquiring the qualification will be taken as the earliest of: the last day of the month in which your final exam was held, the date of declaration of result, the date of issuance of marksheet, or the date of issuance of degree. No relaxation is given on this count.

Age Limit

• You should not exceed 60 years of age as on the last date of application, i.e. 26 July 2026.
• Your age, experience and all other eligibility criteria will be reckoned strictly as on this 26 July 2026 cut-off date.

Salary

• Sr. Bridge Design Engineer (Main Bridge) & Sr. Bridge Design Specialist: Rs. 2,25,000 per month
• Sr. Design Review Engineer & Sr. Bridge Design Engineer: Rs. 2,00,000 per month
• Payment is released within one week of month completion, based on attendance. As an Individual Consultant, you will not be entitled to PF, ESI, Gratuity or other statutory employee benefits, and payment is subject to TDS as applicable.
• If your engagement extends beyond one year, your consultancy fee may be reviewed annually based on the escalation received in RITES' client fee for the previous year.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection is done in the following stages:

1. Document Scrutiny/Verification: All candidates who submit their online application are checked for eligibility against the post applied for, either in person at the RITES Corporate Office, Gurugram, or online via video conferencing.
2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted, eligible candidates are evaluated on technical skills, subject knowledge, experience, communication and interpersonal skills.

Actual deployment and the issue of an offer letter depends on client approval and continued project requirement. RITES Management reserves the right to cancel, restrict, enlarge or modify the selection process at any stage without assigning any reason.
