NIT Calicut is hiring 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Project Associate-I for a research project in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The Office of Research and Consultancy at NIT Calicut has announced 1 vacancy for a Junior Research Fellow or Project Associate-I on a contract basis, sponsored by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). The project, titled "A Novel Approach to Soft Robot Modelling and Control in Rehabilitation: A Koopman Operator Theory Perspective," is based in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The engagement is initially for 1 year, extendable up to 2 more years based on your performance and project needs.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification:

• First Class in B.Tech/B.E. in ECE, EE, or a closely allied area.
• Minimum 55% aggregate marks (or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD candidates) from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualification:

• M.Tech degree with First Class and minimum 55% marks (or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD) in ECE, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, Robotics, Control, or Intelligence specializations.
• Good understanding of embedded systems, soft robots, and mathematical modelling and control.
• Hands-on experience with programming languages and simulation tools such as MATLAB.

Salary

• If you qualify CSIR-UGC NET or GATE, you will be hired as JRF with a consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 37,000 plus 20% HRA.
• Other selected candidates will be hired as Project Associate-I with a consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 30,000 plus 20% HRA.

Selection is through an interview only:

1. Offline/Online Interview: Scheduled for 24 July 2026.

• Conduct research and experiments under the ANRF-sponsored project on soft robot modelling and control

• Assist the principal investigator with project reports and academic publications
