NIFTEM SRF PHGG Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) is hiring a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for its study of composite flour made with partially hydrolysed guar gum (PHGG). The project looks at how this flour affects blood-sugar control and metabolic health in diabetic rodent models with abnormal lipid levels. This is a project-based contract, linked to a defined research study.

The project brings together food development and biological testing. Its scope covers laboratory experiments, work with tissue models and studies in living animals, allowing the research team to examine the flour through different types of evidence. You would join a study that connects a food ingredient with questions about glycaemic and metabolic health.

जिम्मेदारियाँ

  • Prepare PHGG composite flours and food prototypes for nutritional and physicochemical testing.
  • Run FTIR, DSC, GPC, viscosity, solubility, fibre-content and prebiotic-index analyses.
  • Assess texture, sensory responses and shelf life under ambient and accelerated conditions.
  • Conduct enzyme-inhibition, glycaemic-index, cell-culture and intestinal-model assays.
  • Monitor glucose, insulin, lipid profiles and HbA1c in diabetic animal models and assist with tissue analyses.
  • Record experiments, prepare research reports and contribute to publications and project outputs.

Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science and Nutrition, Food and Nutrition, Biochemistry, Toxicology or allied sciences.

PhD in the relevant discipline and publications in peer-reviewed journals.

आवश्यक कौशल

Desirable: laboratory animal handling, in-vivo and ex-vivo research, MS Office, statistical analysis tools and good communication, preferably in Hindi and English.
