NCERT SRA JPF Recruitment 2026

National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is holding a walk-in interview for 6 project staff posts in the Educational Survey Division. The notice covers 3 Senior Research Associate (SRA) and 3 Junior Project Fellow (JPF) posts for PAC-approved projects in 2026-27. You need a postgraduate degree with 55% marks in a relevant education, science, social science, mathematics, language or humanities subject. NCERT Educational Survey Division has released an advertisement dated 17 June 2026 for temporary and contractual engagement of research project staff. The appointment is up to 31 March 2027 or until the project tenure ends, whichever is earlier. Who Can Apply?

Senior Research Associate (SRA)

• Qualification: PG or equivalent degree in Education Sciences, Social Sciences, Mathematics, English, Hindi, Humanities or Languages with at least 55% marks.
• Relaxed marks: SC, ST and PwD candidates need at least 50% marks.
• Experience: You need 2 years of teaching experience in school.
• Desirable: Ph.D. or M.Phil. in Education, B.Ed./M.Ed. from an NCTE/UGC recognised institution, NET qualification, good Hindi and English communication, and computer knowledge.

Junior Project Fellow (JPF)

• Qualification: PG or equivalent degree in Education Sciences, Social Sciences, Mathematics, English, Hindi, Humanities or Languages with at least 55% marks.
• Relaxed marks: SC, ST and PwD candidates need at least 50% marks.
• Desirable: School teaching experience, B.Ed./M.Ed., NET qualification, good writing and verbal communication in Hindi and English, and knowledge of MS Office, open software and ICT.
• Degree awaited: Candidates whose degree is awaited should not apply.

Age Limit

• SRA: You should be below 45 years.
• JPF: You should be below 40 years.
• Relaxation: Age relaxation is available as per Government of India norms.

Fellowship

• SRA with NET: Rs. 42,000 per month consolidated.
• SRA without NET: Rs. 40,000 per month consolidated.
• JPF with NET: Rs. 37,000 per month consolidated.
• JPF without NET: Rs. 35,000 per month consolidated.
• The fellowship is temporary and does not give a claim for regular NCERT employment.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)

NCERT will select candidates through a walk-in interview. The notification does not mention any written exam for these SRA and JPF posts.

1. Registration: Report between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM at Room No. 421, 4th Floor, Zakir Hussain Block, NCERT, New Delhi.
2. Document Check: Bring original certificates, self-attested photocopies, resume, photograph and related documents.
3. Interview: SRA interview is on 29 June 2026 at 9:30 AM. JPF interview is on 30 June 2026 at 9:30 AM.
4. Joining: Selected candidates will be required to join immediately.
