NCERT Programmer and SRA DESS Recruitment 2026

NCERT's Department of Education in Social Sciences (DESS) is hiring 1 Programmer and 1 Senior Research Associate (SRA) for the National Yoga Olympiad 2026-27 project. If you have a PG in Computer Applications/Computer Science (for Programmer) or a PG in Physical Education/Yoga/Sports/Social Science (for SRA), you can walk in for an interview. The walk-in interview is on 20 July 2026 at NCERT, New Delhi. Consolidated pay ranges from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 50,000 per month.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Education, has invited applications to fill 2 project staff positions — Programmer and Senior Research Associate — for the National Yoga Olympiad 2026-27 project under its Department of Education in Social Sciences (DESS). Both posts are purely temporary and contractual, co-terminus with the project. Selection is through a walk-in interview only, with no written test involved.

Who Can Apply?

For Programmer (Rs. 50,000/month):

• PG in Computer Application/Computer Science/Computer Technology or M.Tech (with specialisation in Computer Application) with minimum 55% marks, plus 2 years' post-qualification experience in electronic data processing/computer programming
• OR B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications/Computer Science, or a degree in Electronics/Electronics & Communication Engineering, plus 3 years' post-qualification experience in electronic data processing/computer programming

For Senior Research Associate (Rs. 40,000-42,000/month):

• PG in Health and Physical Education/Physical Education/Yoga/Sports/Social Science with minimum 55% marks or equivalent
• At least 2 years' experience working in a research project in any organisation
• Desirable: Basic computer knowledge, MS Office proficiency, data processing and report-writing skills, and good communication skills

Note: Your research, teaching, training or content development experience must be related to School Education. Time spent pursuing M.Phil or Ph.D does not count as experience. If your result for the essential qualification is still awaited, do not apply.

Age Limit

• For Programmer: you should be not more than 45 years old, or not more than 65 years if you are a retired person from a Government organisation (relaxation as per GoI norms).
• For Senior Research Associate: you should be not more than 45 years old (relaxation as per GoI norms).

Salary

• Programmer: Rs. 50,000 per month, consolidated and fixed.
• Senior Research Associate (NET/Ph.D qualified): Rs. 42,000 per month, consolidated and fixed.
• Senior Research Associate (Non-NET): Rs. 40,000 per month, consolidated and fixed.
• No other allowances are payable, and no TA/DA is given for attending the interview — this is a fixed consolidated remuneration under a project-based engagement.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

NCERT will select candidates purely through an open interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held on 20 July 2026 at the Conference Room, 3rd Floor, DESS, Janaki Ammal Khand, near SBI, NCERT.
2. Document Verification: Bring your resume/bio-data, passport-size photo, original certificates and self-attested photocopies for verification at the time of interview.

If you are claiming experience for a post with consolidated remuneration of Rs. 40,000 or above (Programmer or SRA), you must also submit an attested copy of your salary slip, bank statement or ITR at the interview.

4. Report at the Conference Room, 3rd Floor, DESS, Janaki Ammal Khand, near SBI, NCERT, New Delhi between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM on 20 July 2026.
5. Candidates arriving after 11:00 AM will not be entertained.
6. If you work with another organisation, carry a No Objection Certificate or route your application through your employer.

• Assist in organising project activities, workshops and data management
