MPKV's Department of Entomology in Rahuri is hiring 2 Young Professional-II and 1 Laboratory Attendant for its pesticide residue research projects. Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri has re-issued Notification No. HOD/Ent/PRP/MPRNL/Re. Advt./YP-II & LA/569/2026, dated 31 July 2026, for 3 contractual posts at the Department of Entomology under two pesticide residue research projects — 'Advancement of Research in Pesticide Residues to meet International Requirements' and 'Monitoring of Pesticide Residues at National Level', both part of the All India Network Project (AINP) on Pesticide Residues & Contaminants. The posts include 2 Young Professional-II vacancies for candidates with a science Master's degree, and 1 Laboratory Attendant vacancy for Bachelor's degree holders. Candidates with experience handling LCMSMS/GCMSMS instruments or working in ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited labs will get preference for Young Professional-II. Selected candidates will work full-time at the Pesticide Residue Laboratory of the department for the entire contract term.

Who Can Apply?

For Young Professional-II (Rs. 35,000/month):

• Qualification: Master's degree in Chemistry, Agriculture Chemicals, Entomology, Food Science & Technology, or Food Technology from a recognized University/Institute, with at least 1 year of research experience.
• Desirable: Research experience in Pesticide Residue Analysis; experience handling sophisticated analytical instruments like LCMSMS or GCMSMS in an ISO/IEC 17025:2017-accredited lab.

For Laboratory Attendant (Rs. 14,000/month):

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Agriculture Chemicals, or Entomology from a recognized University/Institute, with at least 1 year of research experience.
• Desirable: Experience handling laboratory glassware and chemicals.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 40 years old to apply for either post.

Salary

• Young Professional-II will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 35,000 per month.
• Laboratory Attendant will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 14,000 per month.
• The placement is on a contract basis for six months, or up to 31 March 2027, whichever is earlier, and can be terminated at any time without assigning a reason.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following steps:

1. Screening: Applications are checked against the essential qualification for each post.
2. Interview: Eligible candidates are interviewed by the Selection Committee. You need to bring original and self-attested certificates from matriculation onwards at the time of the interview.

Candidates called for interview will not get TA/DA. Once selected, you will work under the administrative control of the Principal Investigator, cannot accept any other paid or unpaid appointment during the contract period, and must give one month's advance notice (or pay an amount equal to one month's salary) if you wish to leave before the tenure ends. The role can be terminated with 24 hours' notice for negligence or misconduct, and neither the university nor ICAR takes any responsibility for regularizing the position once the project tenure is over.
