Kamdhenu University (KU) is hiring 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a research project at its College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (CoVS & A.H.) in Himmatnagar, Gujarat. If you hold a Post Graduate degree in Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Zoology, Biotechnology, Chemistry or a related life sciences subject, you can attend the walk-in interview on 1 September 2026. NET-qualified candidates get a fellowship of Rs. 31,000 per month plus HRA, while candidates without NET get Rs. 23,213 per month.

Kamdhenu University (KU) Junior Research Fellow Walk-in Interview 2026 - 1 Post

Kamdhenu University (KU) was set up by the Government of Gujarat (Gujarat Act No. 9 of 2009) to promote veterinary, dairy and animal husbandry education and research. The university has now issued a revised notice calling eligible candidates for a walk-in interview to fill 1 Junior Research Fellow post under a research project titled "Natural Farming vs. Conventional Farming: Understanding the Translational Dynamics of Microbiome, Drug and Pesticide Residue". This is a purely contractual position tied to the project, and the university will not guarantee any job after the scheme ends. Postgraduates in veterinary science, agriculture, or other life sciences with or without NET can walk in — but if too many candidates show up, a written test will decide who gets the interview slot.

Who Can Apply?

For NET-Qualified Candidates (Fellowship: Rs. 31,000/month + HRA):

• Post Graduate degree in Veterinary Science (any discipline), Agriculture, Zoology, Pharmacy, Industrial Biotechnology, Biotechnology, Chemistry or any relevant life sciences subject, OR Fisheries Science / Marine Science, WITH a valid NET qualification as per DST, Government of India norms.

For Non-NET Candidates (Fellowship: Rs. 23,213/month, no HRA):

• Post Graduate degree in the same fields as above, without NET.

Experience working on a similar research project is desirable if you do not hold a B.V.Sc & A.H. degree.

Age Limit

• Male candidates: maximum 40 years.
• Female candidates: maximum 45 years.

Salary

• NET-qualified JRF: Rs. 31,000 per month plus HRA, as per DST, Government of India norms.
• Non-NET JRF: Rs. 23,213 per month (HRA not applicable).

Selection Process

Selection is through a walk-in interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held at College of Veterinary Science & A.H., Kamdhenu University, Rajpur (Nava), Himmatnagar-383010 on 1 September 2026.
2. Written Test (if needed): Conducted only if the number of candidates who show up is high.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
