KRCL Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, is hiring on fixed-term contract for its Mechanical Department's Lote project. Every post sits at the Rolling Stock Component Factory (RSCF) at Lote, Taluka Khed, District Ratnagiri, Maharashtra — the unit that builds LHB bogies and overhauls ICF trolleys for Indian Railways. This is notification number CO/P-R/18C/2026, and it covers five very different roles: an engineer to run the shop floor, stores and accounts hands, an HR person and a nurse for the factory health unit. Selection is by walk-in interview at Navi Mumbai, so there is no online form to fill.

Posts and Disciplines

• Assistant Mechanical Engineer (RSCF): a diploma or degree in Mechanical, Production or Instrumentation Engineering. This one is meant for retired Indian Railways hands — either a retired Junior Scale Officer of the Mechanical Department or a retired Senior Section Engineer (Mechanical) from a coaching or wagon workshop or depot. Hands-on work on SS1, SS2 or SS3 schedules of LHB coaches or IOH/POH of ICF coaches is mandatory here.
• Depot Materials Superintendent: a bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Electronics Engineering plus a diploma or MBA in Materials Management, backed by stores experience. Time in a manufacturing plant or PSU is an added advantage.
• Account Assistant: for Inter CA or Inter CMA holders who have already worked a year in accounts.
• Personnel Inspector: any graduate with a diploma in Personnel or Human Resource Management and HR experience behind them.
• Nurse: B.Sc Nursing, or Class 10 plus a completed GNM course, with hospital experience in a government or private setup.

Post-wise Duties

Assistant Mechanical Engineer

You report to the Chief Project Manager of RSCF and run the factory's day-to-day work — manufacturing of LHB bogies, staff matters, materials, inspection and quality control. You also keep the statistics on failures, defects, warranty claims, material consumption and rejections, raise invoices on Central Railway, and coordinate between state, KRCL and Central Railway officials.

Depot Materials Superintendent

You handle procurement for the project, including GeM purchases, working within the IRS Conditions of Contract, general financial rules and Railway Board guidelines. The safety, stacking and upkeep of everything in the RSCF stores is yours, and you study consumption patterns so material goes out as the shop floor actually needs it.

Account Assistant

You assist the Chief Project Manager on cost accounting and cost control, bill Central Railway, process vendor bills, prepare data for tax compliance, and put together the balance sheet of the Rolling Stock Component Factory. Internal and external audit teams come to you for documentation.

Personnel Inspector

You sit between the workforce and the administration — talking to regular and contract staff about workplace problems, settling disputes before they grow, and making sure operations stay inside the labour laws in force.

Nurse

You man the health unit inside the factory, keep its equipment working, and give first aid or medical help to anyone injured on duty. Serious cases you route to KRCL-approved hospitals. You also supervise hygiene in the canteen and check water quality in the residential quarters' tanks from time to time.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract length: one year to begin with, extendable up to five years on satisfactory performance and KRCL's requirement. Pay may be revised from the second year onward at the Corporation's discretion.
• Annual increase: the consolidated monthly pay goes up by 4% each completed year, subject to KRCL's discretion.
• Bond: selected candidates execute an agreement and an indemnity bond of Rs. 50,000 in favour of KRCL on stamp paper of Rs. 100 or more.
• No absorption: you sign an undertaking that you will not claim permanent absorption into KRCL regular service. These are project posts, not regular establishment posts.
• Transfer liability: although the work is at Lote, KRCL can post or transfer you anywhere in its establishment during the contract.
• Notice period: either side can end the contract with one month's notice or pay in lieu of it.
• Living costs: no accommodation is provided and no food or mess allowance is paid. Leave works out to 2.5 days per month plus 8 days casual leave in the year, and it cannot be encashed.
• Standby panel: KRCL keeps a merit panel above the notified requirement, and the number of posts can change with the project's needs.
• Travel to the interview: no train or bus fare, TA or DA is paid, and you should be ready to stay two days at your own cost.

There is nothing to send by post. Come straight to the walk-in interview at the Executive Club, Konkan Rail Vihar, Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd., near Seawoods Railway Station, Sector-40, Seawoods (West), Navi Mumbai. Registration runs from 09:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs only, and latecomers are not registered.

Carry your application typed into the prescribed format given as Annexure-A of the notification, along with all original certificates and one self-attested copy set. Applications that do not follow the prescribed format, or that carry illegible or ambiguous certificates, are rejected on the spot. KRCL screens the papers first and interviews only the candidates found provisionally eligible.
