Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: A Master's degree with 55% marks (calculated without any grace marks or rounding off) in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics from an Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Additional requirement: You must have cleared NET (conducted by UGC or CSIR) or an equivalent test like SLET/GSET.
• NET Exemption: If you hold a Ph.D. awarded under the UGC Minimum Standards Regulations (2009 or 2016), you are exempt from NET/SLET/GSET — provided your Ph.D. was awarded in regular mode, your thesis was evaluated by at least two external examiners, you had an open viva voce, you published at least two research papers (at least one in a refereed journal), and you presented at least two conference papers based on your Ph.D. work.

Option B - Ph.D. from a Top-Ranked Foreign University

• A Ph.D. from a foreign university that has ranked among the top 500 in the World University Rankings (at any point) by QS, THE, or the Shanghai ARWU ranking.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 45,000 per month.
• Since the salary is fully consolidated, no separate HRA, DA, or TA is paid on top of the Rs. 45,000 amount.
• This is a 10-month contractual position from the date of joining. You will need to join within 7 days of receiving your appointment order.
• The nature of this post depends on budgetary approval, so continuation beyond the sanctioned period is not guaranteed.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)

There is no separate written application to submit — selection happens entirely through a walk-in interview on 29 July 2026 in offline mode:

1. Reporting and Registration: Report between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM at the venue. Registration continues until 11:00 AM, but you will not be registered if you arrive after 10:30 AM.
2. Document Verification: Between 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM, bring all original certificates plus one self-attested photocopy set — degree certificates, NET/SLET/GSET certificate (if applicable), semester-wise mark sheets, experience certificates, and testimonials.
3. Screening Test / Interview: Starts at 11:00 AM onwards. If the number of candidates is high, the department may first hold an MCQ screening test based on the NET/GSET syllabus. A teaching demonstration may also be requested if the department feels it necessary — this is usually a short mock lecture to check your classroom communication skills.

Keep in mind this is a purely temporary, budget-dependent position. Your performance will be reviewed from time to time, and unsatisfactory performance can lead to termination of the engagement.
