GBPUAT Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026: Overview

Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) is recruiting Assistant Professors through direct recruitment for its constituent colleges in Uttarakhand. The notice covers agricultural, veterinary, community science, basic science, engineering, fisheries and agribusiness disciplines. This is a fresh recruitment under notice A-31/2026, and applications made under the cancelled earlier advertisement will not carry forward.

Posts and Disciplines

• College of Agriculture: Teaching areas include Agronomy, Soil Science, Food Science and Technology, Plant Pathology, Agrometeorology, Agricultural Communication, Horticulture, Genetics and Plant Breeding, and Entomology.
• College of Community Science: The opening is in Food and Nutrition, within the college's community and home science subject area.

• College of Agribusiness Management: The Agribusiness Management post belongs to a self-financed college, with its funding arrangement stated separately in the notice.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Posting flexibility: You may be placed at a university campus, research centre or Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), depending on the university's needs. The college named against a post does not remove this wider placement condition.
• State reservation: Category and horizontal reservation benefits apply only to permanent residents of Uttarakhand under state rules. Applicants from other states are considered in the unreserved category.
• Horizontal reservation: If a suitable applicant is unavailable for a horizontal allocation other than the disability allocation, the university may use a suitable applicant from the original category. If the post stays vacant, it will be advertised again with the same horizontal reservation.
• Previous project service: If you currently work in a project or KVK and join through this recruitment, your earlier project or KVK service will not count towards service benefits in the new appointment.
• Self-financed college: The Agribusiness Management post remains separate from other posts, and its payment comes from income generated by that college.
• Service rules: University statutes and service rules govern the appointment. Retirement benefits follow state government orders as adopted by the university and amended over time.
• Travel costs: The university will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending a test or interview. Plan your attendance with this condition in mind.
• University discretion: GBPUAT may fill all, some or none of the advertised posts. False information or concealed facts can result in cancellation or termination, including after appointment.

• Earlier recruitment cancelled: Notice A-31/2026 cancels employment notice A-28/2025. You must apply afresh using the current format; the university says payments made for the cancelled advertisement will be refunded.
