GGSGH Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Guru Gobind Singh Government Hospital (GGSGH), under the Government of NCT of Delhi, is recruiting Senior Resident doctors across seven clinical specialties. These are purely ad-hoc appointments against sanctioned and vacant non-teaching specialist posts, giving doctors a hospital-based residency opportunity while regular recruitment is pending.

The hospital is using a daily walk-in arrangement until the notified posts are filled. Each appointment is limited to 89 days or ends earlier when the concerned department receives a regular or ad-hoc Senior Resident or specialist.

Posts and Disciplines

• Radiology: Diagnostic imaging work at GGSGH, with part of the weekly assignment at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in Hari Nagar.
• Anaesthesia: Peri-operative and emergency anaesthesia support for the hospital's surgical services.
• Medicine: Inpatient, outpatient and emergency care within the medicine service.
• Paediatrics: Clinical care for children across the paediatric ward, emergency and related services.
• Surgery: Surgical assessment, ward care and support during procedures.
• Obstetrics and Gynaecology: Maternity, gynaecology and emergency clinical care.
• Skin: Dermatology assessment and treatment through the hospital's skin service.

Post-wise Duties

Radiology

You will support diagnostic imaging, clinical reporting and coordination with referring units. The notice specifically assigns the Radiology resident to work 2-3 days each week at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.

Anaesthesia

You will assess patients around surgery, support procedures and respond to airway and pain-management needs under the department's clinical protocols.

Medicine

You will manage adult patients across wards and emergency services, maintain clinical notes and coordinate investigations and treatment plans with senior doctors.

Paediatrics

You will examine and monitor children, discuss care with families and support paediatric ward and emergency services.

Surgery

You will assess surgical patients, support operative and bedside procedures, and manage pre-operative and post-operative care.

Obstetrics and Gynaecology

You will support maternity and gynaecology services, including clinical reviews and urgent care within the department.

Skin

You will evaluate dermatology cases, keep treatment records and contribute to outpatient skin-care services.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Ad-hoc tenure: Each appointment is purely temporary for 89 days and can finish earlier when the relevant post is filled.
• Changing position: The hospital may change the available post position at any time, including by the date on which results are published.
• Reservation fallback: If suitable SC, ST, OBC or EWS candidates are unavailable, the hospital may consider unreserved candidates.
• Prior residency: Preference goes to doctors who have not completed three years of Senior Residency, though doctors who have completed that period may also apply.
• Registration condition: A selected doctor must provide the DMC certificate within two weeks of joining; failure can lead to termination.
• Travel costs: No TA or DA is paid for attending the interview.

Application Submission Notes

Report between 09:30 AM and 10:00 AM at the Establishment Branch, B Block, 3rd Floor, GGSGH. Bring the application on a standard form and be ready to complete the walk-in process at the hospital.
