DRDO VRDE Ahilyanagar is offering 15 Paid Internships for final-year B.E./B.Tech students. If you are studying Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and entering your final year in academic year 2026-2027, you can apply. The last date to apply is 8 June 2026. You will get a total stipend of Rs. 30,000 for the six-month training, and selection is based purely on academic merit.

DRDO VRDE Paid Internship Recruitment 2026 - 15 Posts

Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (VRDE) under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, has released Advertisement No. VRDE/HRD/PDINTERN/2026/01 for paid internships at its Ahilyanagar (Maharashtra) campus. VRDE is the country's nodal laboratory for Light Tracked and Wheeled Vehicles, Mobility Systems, Wheeled Launched Systems, and Combat Systems for strategic and tactical defence programmes. There is no written exam — selection is purely on merit based on academic record. Backlog students are not eligible.

• Electronics & Communication Engineering: 8 posts
• Electrical Engineering: 5 posts
• Computer Science Engineering: 2 posts

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must be entering the final year (7th / 8th semester) of B.E. / B.Tech in the academic year 2026-2027, in one of the three eligible disciplines (ECE, CSE, or EE).
• Backlog: Students with any backlog subjects are not eligible.
• Reference Letter: You must attach a mandatory reference letter from your college Principal / Director on official letterhead.
• NOC: A No Objection Certificate from the college, mentioning that you will be relieved for internship training, is required at the time of joining.
• Attendance: You must be physically present for at least 15 working days each month during the six-month training.
• Police Verification: A Police Verification Certificate from your local police station must be submitted at the time of joining.

Stipend

• Total stipend: Rs. 30,000 for the six-month internship
• First installment: Rs. 15,000 after completing 3 months
• Second installment: Rs. 15,000 after completing 6 months
• You need a minimum of 45 days attendance in every 3 months to qualify for the installment
• Lodging, food, transport, and medical expenses are not covered by VRDE during the internship
• Students who leave before completing 3 months will not be paid any stipend

• No application fee — applying is free for all candidates

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Merit-based shortlisting: Selection is done purely on academic merit. CGPA and overall academic record are the main filters.
2. Email Intimation: Only selected students will be informed by email on or around 19 June 2026. Rejected candidates will not be contacted.
3. Document Verification at Joining: You will need to bring the college NOC, police verification certificate, original Aadhaar, college ID, all semester marksheets, and 2 passport-size photographs.
4. Project Work and Evaluation: At the end of training, you must submit a project report and present your work; the Certificate of Completion is awarded only after this evaluation.

Note: VRDE reserves the right to change the vacancy position or selection criteria at any point during the selection process without assigning any reason.

How to Apply

1. Download the application form from the VRDE / DRDO advertisement at drdo.gov.in.
2. Fill in the application form with your personal, academic, and college details.
3. Attach the mandatory reference letter from your Principal / Director, a copy of your latest Aadhaar Card, and your CGPA / marksheet copy.
4. Send the scanned copy of the filled application form and documents by email to kapilpuraswani.vrde@gov.in.
5. Mention "Application for Paid Internship with [Discipline]" in the subject line.
6. You may also submit a duly filled hard copy by post to: The Director, VRDE, Vahannagar PO, Ahilyanagar – 414006, Maharashtra.
7. Make sure the application reaches VRDE by 8 June 2026; late applications will not be considered.

• Work on assigned research and development projects in mobility systems, wheeled and light tracked combat systems, or wheeled launched systems
• Attend laboratory sessions and field tests under the guidance of VRDE scientists and engineers
• Maintain attendance of at least 15 working days every month at the establishment
• Prepare project notes, design documents, and code as required by your assigned discipline
• Submit a detailed project report at the end of the six-month internship
• Present your project work for evaluation before the certificate of completion is awarded
• Follow the security, confidentiality, and conduct guidelines of the establishment
