Some vacancies are regular while others are specific to ongoing DRDO projects, and such fellowships may be terminated once the project ends. SSPL also reserves the right to amend, modify, or cancel this advertisement, and the number of fellowships may be increased, decreased, or cancelled depending on the prevailing requirement and Government of India policy.

Who Can Apply?

For Junior Research Fellow (JRF):

• You need a Post Graduate Degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Physics/Electronics with First Division and a valid NET score, OR
• A Graduate Degree (B.E./B.Tech in Engineering Physics/Electronics) with First Division and NET/GATE qualified, OR
• A Post Graduate Degree (M.E./M.Tech) with First Division at both Graduate and Post Graduate level

For Research Associate (RA):

• You need a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Physics/Electronics, OR
• M.E./M.Tech with 3 years of research experience in Semiconductor Materials, Devices Fabrication and Characterization, with at least one research paper published in an SCI-indexed journal
• If you have submitted your Ph.D. thesis but not yet been awarded the degree, you can still apply for RA — but the Research Associateship will only be confirmed once you receive your degree or provisional certificate, on or before the date the offer is made.

Age Limit

• For JRF, you should not be older than 28 years.
• For RA, you should not be older than 35 years.
• Age Relaxation: Available for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Stipend of Rs. 37,000 per month.
• Research Associate (RA): Stipend of Rs. 67,000 per month.
• The fellowship amount will be paid as per the availability of project funds, up to the project completion date.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for these posts — selection happens directly through a walk-in interview:

1. Document Verification: Bring your filled application (Appendix A), attested mark sheets, certificates, caste certificate (if applicable), experience certificates and publications for verification at the venue.
2. Screening (if required): If a large number of candidates show up, a screening test may be conducted on the same date to shortlist candidates for the interview.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed on the scheduled date for their discipline.

Note: These are purely temporary positions and do not confer any right to absorption or regular appointment in DRDO. The fellowship may be terminated at any time during the tenure with one month's prior notice, and fellows may also resign with one month's prior notice. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview, and electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the SSPL premises.
