CUSAT Assistant Professor (Computer Science) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

CUSAT has released Notification No. Ad.D2/ICREP/2024, dated 20 June 2026, for one Assistant Professor (on Contract) post in Computer Science at the Prof. N R Madhava Menon Interdisciplinary Centre for Research Ethics and Protocols (ICREP). ICREP is CUSAT's dedicated interdisciplinary research centre focused on research ethics and protocols, and this role blends regular teaching with guiding research in this specialised, growing field. Working at CUSAT's main campus in Kochi puts you at one of Kerala's leading technical universities, known for its strong engineering and applied sciences programmes. The appointment is initially for one year, with a break during the May-June vacation period, and can be extended further by the university depending on requirement and your performance. Candidates with a Ph.D are preferred and get a higher consolidated salary than other contract teachers. Any additional vacancies that arise while the ranklist from this selection is still valid will also be filled from the same process, so even if you are not selected for the first post, you may still get called later during the currency of the ranklist. This makes it worth applying even if you are unsure about your rank going in.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/B.S. and M.E./M.Tech/M.S. (or Integrated M.Tech) in Computer Science with first class, OR MCA with first class or equivalent, OR M.Sc Computer Science with NET/Ph.D.
• Preferred: A Ph.D in Computer Science or a related field is desirable and comes with a higher consolidated salary.
• The university follows its Communal Reservation Policy at the time of appointment, so make sure to mention your reservation category (if applicable) with supporting documents in your application.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 47,000 per month if you hold a Ph.D, or Rs. 45,000 per month if you don't.
• This is a fixed consolidated pay for contract teachers — no separate DA/HRA allowances are mentioned in the notification.
• Your appointment, service conditions, and other benefits will be governed by CUSAT's KSR, KS&SSR, and university Statutes/Ordinances, as amended from time to time.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this post. Selection is based on:

1. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview, and a ranklist is prepared from the results.
2. Document Verification: You must produce self-attested copies of documents proving your qualification, date of birth, and reservation category (if applicable).
