CSIR National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR NIO), a premier ocean research laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has released Advertisement No. NIO/HRM/Apprenticeship/RCV/02/2026 for 15 Technician and Graduate Apprentice posts at its Regional Centre, Visakhapatnam (RCV). The apprenticeship covers three engineering disciplines — Civil, Electrical & Electronics, and Computer Engineering — along with Graduate Apprentice roles in Oceanography and general office functions such as Admin, Finance, HR, and Stores. This is a one-year, hands-on training program that gives freshers real industry exposure at a leading government ocean research institute.

Who Can Apply?

For Technician Apprentice (Civil / Electrical & Electronics / Computer Engineering):

• You need a 3-year full-time Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognised institute.

For Graduate Apprentice (Oceanography):

• You need a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc or equivalent) in a science discipline related to Oceanography.

For Graduate Apprentice (Office Admin / Finance / HR / Stores):

• You need a Bachelor's degree (BA / B.Com / BBA or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

This is an Apprenticeship Training program under the Apprentices Act, 1961 — freshers without prior work experience are welcome to apply.

Salary

• Technician Apprentices get a stipend of around Rs. 10,900 per month.
• Graduate Apprentices get a stipend of around Rs. 12,300 per month.
• The stipend is paid for the full one-year training duration as per government apprenticeship norms.

Selection Process

CSIR-NIO will select apprentices through:

1. Walk-in Interview: Attend in person with your original certificates and photocopies at the Regional Centre, Visakhapatnam.
2. Document Verification: Your certificates will be checked on the spot to confirm your eligibility.

There is no separate written exam or online application form for this recruitment — everything is done through the walk-in process.
