The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Yadgir District, Government of Karnataka has released a notification for 1 District Disaster Management Professional post under the Other Disaster Management Project (ODMP). This is a contractual position that runs until 31 March 2027 or until further orders, whichever comes earlier. No written exam is required — candidates are chosen purely through screening and an interview. As a District Disaster Management Professional, you will carry out Hazard Risk Vulnerability Assessments, help update the District Disaster Management Plan, coordinate mock drills, and keep the Indian Disaster Resource Network updated for Yadgir district. This role suits professionals with a background in disaster risk reduction, environmental science or rural development who want to work directly with a District Disaster Management Authority.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Science, Social Science, Rural Development, Environmental Science or Management from a UGC-recognized university.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience in any aspect of Disaster Management. Candidates with hands-on Disaster Management experience will be preferred.
• Work Knowledge: You should know the District Disaster Management Plan (DDMP) and the Indian Disaster Resource Network (IDRN), and be familiar with the DM Act 2005 and NDMA guidelines.
• Language: You must be proficient in both Kannada and English, with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Computer Skills: Sound working knowledge of MS Office and internet applications is required.

Age Limit

• You should be between 25 and 40 years old.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 53,240 per month.
• You will also get an out-station travel conveyance allowance as per government norms.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Screening and Shortlisting: Applications are screened and candidates are shortlisted on merit.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview, where original documents must be produced for verification.

There is no written examination for this post.
