WCD Panchmahal Anganwadi Recruitment 2026: Overview

The ICDS branch of District Panchayat Panchmahal, which works under the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat, is taking women into honorary service as Anganwadi Worker (Karyakar) and Anganwadi Helper (Tedagar) at the anganwadi centres it runs. The engagement sits inside the centrally sponsored Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, and this round of manpower covers the 16 ICDS units spread across the seven talukas of Panchmahal. It is honorary service on a fixed monthly honorarium and not a regular government post, so the terms come from the department’s anganwadi selection resolution rather than from the usual service rules. For a woman living in a village of the district, this is one of the few openings that keeps her work inside her own gram.

Posts and Disciplines

• Anganwadi Worker (Karyakar): the woman who runs an anganwadi centre and the senior of the two honorary engagements. A helper already serving at a centre is placed ahead of fresh applicants for this post.
• Anganwadi Helper (Tedagar): the support hand at the same centre, and the engagement most women of the village start with.

Both engagements are filled centre by centre rather than for the district as a whole. You choose the exact anganwadi centre you want while filling the form, and your marks are compared only with the women who picked that same centre — a centre at a taluka headquarters and a centre in a small village can therefore close at very different levels.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Local residence: you must already be a local resident, for at least one year, of the revenue village in whose area the anganwadi centre works. Only the prescribed-format certificate issued by the Mamlatdar’s office through a Jan Seva Kendra counts, and it cannot be older than six months from the day the advertisement was published.
• Honorary service: this is manad seva under the ICDS scheme, not a regular government post. Everything about the engagement follows the Women and Child Development Department resolution ICD/102019/1652/B (Part-2) dated 25 November 2019 and the amendments made to it from time to time.
• Priority for serving helpers: a woman already working as an Anganwadi Helper is considered ahead of other applicants for the Worker post under clauses 6.1 to 6.6 of that resolution, and a more relaxed upper age rule is applied to her.
• Cut-off: the last date of application is the cut-off for age, schooling and every other condition, so you must already meet all of them on that day.
• One family, one centre: two women of the same family cannot hold the Worker and Helper engagements at one anganwadi centre. The bar covers a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, two sisters, derani-jethani and nanand-bhabhi.
• Clean record: a woman facing a police complaint or a court conviction, declared insolvent, or removed or suspended from any earlier government, semi-government or honorary service as punishment cannot apply.
• No other office: if you hold an honorary or elected post in a local body, the Vidhan Sabha, the Lok Sabha, a cooperative body, a registered society or a registered trust and you do not want to leave it, you cannot apply.
• Accuracy: if the details typed into the form do not match the papers you upload, your candidature is cancelled and no request against that decision is heard. Scanned copies must be clean enough to read.

Application Submission Notes

There is no paper form and no office to visit. Everything happens on the Gujarat e-HRMS portal, where the anganwadi advertisement of every district sits in one list — open the Panchmahal row, read the notice and the common instructions linked beside it, then use the Apply button on that row. The form itself has to be filled in English, even though the notice is in Gujarati.
