Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) is hiring a Legal Consultant for a part-time contract in Thiruvananthapuram. The institute is an Institution of National Importance under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. This engagement supports the institute on legal matters involving its administration, employees and court cases.

The role connects the institute with its standing counsel and supports matters before courts, including the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). You will work with issues referred by the Director and other competent authorities, so the assignment covers the institute’s legal needs across several areas.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract period: The initial engagement is for one year. The notice says it is likely to continue, but it does not promise an extension.
• Attendance: You must visit the institute two or three days each week, or whenever required. Keep this attendance arrangement in mind when considering whether the part-time role fits your other commitments.

You can attend the walk-in interview at the IV Floor, Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies, at the institute’s Medical College Campus in Thiruvananthapuram. Reporting begins at 9:30 am, while the interview is scheduled for 11:00 am. These are separate timings, so plan your arrival around the reporting time.

• Draft affidavits, memoranda of understanding (MoUs), agreements, rules and regulations.
• Review legal documents for the institute.
• Prepare replies to notices from commissions.
• Provide legal opinions on matters referred by institute authorities.
