Government of Jharkhand RINPAS Director Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Department of Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand (headquartered at Nepal House, Doranda, Ranchi) has released a notification for 1 Director post at the Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry and Allied Sciences (RINPAS), an autonomous institution being developed into a modern treatment-cum-teaching and research institution for mental health. As Director, you would be the Chief Executive of the Institution, responsible for its overall management along with preparing and executing its Development Plans. You would also serve as Member Secretary of the RINPAS Management Committee, reporting directly to the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, or Secretary of the Health Department. The appointment is made through Direct Recruitment for a fixed period. Both serving and retired government officials can apply — this is a rare senior leadership opportunity in state mental healthcare. Note that two earlier advertisements for this post (dated 18 May 2023 and 8 June 2023) have been cancelled due to unavoidable reasons, and fresh applications are being invited under this new notice.

Who Can Apply?

• Experience: You need a minimum of 15 years of teaching, research, or practical experience in a Psychiatry Institute or Department of Psychiatry at a medical college under the Central or State Government, including service as a Professor.
• Additional Experience: On top of that, you need at least 2 years of experience as Head of the Department, Medical Superintendent, Dean, or Unit Head.
• Note: Both currently working officials and retired officials from Central or State Government institutions are eligible to apply for this post.

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 65 years if you are a currently serving official.
• Your age should not exceed 70 years if you are a retired official.
• The tenure of the post is 5 years from the date of appointment for working officials, and up to 70 years of age for retired officials appointed on contract — whichever comes first.

Salary

• The post carries Pay Level-14 with a minimum salary of Rs. 1,44,200 per month under the 7th Central Pay Commission. Under the older 6th CPC structure, this is equivalent to Pay Scale PB-IV Rs. 37,400-67,000 with Grade Pay Rs. 10,000.
• You will also get Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) as per State Government rules.
• You will get rent-free accommodation as part of the package.
