PMC Health Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is building a multidisciplinary team for its Metropolitan Surveillance Unit under the Health and Epidemic Control departments. This is a contractual public-health drive based in Pune, bringing medical, laboratory, veterinary, entomology, technology and data expertise into one surveillance programme. The unusual strength of this notice is its one-team design — clinicians and field specialists will work alongside laboratory, IT and analytics staff instead of operating as separate units. If your background fits one of these streams, you should choose the role that matches both your qualification and post-qualification experience.
Posts and Disciplines
- Senior Public Health Specialist: leads communicable-disease programmes, epidemiological interpretation and coordinated public-health interventions for the surveillance unit.
- Microbiologist: supports clinical microbiology services and connects laboratory findings with disease-surveillance work.
- Veterinary Officer: brings veterinary public health and animal-disease expertise to zoonotic surveillance and outbreak investigation.
- Technical Assistant: handles clinical microbiology laboratory work, records and routine computer-based reporting.
- Entomologist: investigates vectors and zoonotic disease risks, including surveillance connected with outbreaks.
- Technical Officer IT: plans and implements the information-technology systems needed by the unit.
- Data Analyst: manages analysis, monitoring and evaluation work using office and statistical software.
Post-wise Duties
Public Health and Field Specialists
You will connect surveillance evidence with practical disease-control action. The public-health, veterinary and entomology roles each cover a different part of outbreak preparedness, from programme implementation to animal-health signals and vector investigation.
Laboratory Team
You will support reliable clinical microbiology work, keep testing and registration records in order, and help the surveillance team understand laboratory findings. The Microbiologist provides specialist oversight, while the Technical Assistant supports day-to-day laboratory operations.
Technology and Analytics Team
You will turn programme needs into usable information systems and clear data outputs. The IT role focuses on project planning and implementation; the analyst role works with monitoring data and statistical tools to make trends easier to act on.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Contract status: every role is a fixed-term contractual engagement and does not create a claim to a permanent PMC post.
- Initial tenure: the engagement is for eleven months and twenty-nine days and may be renewed according to work performance and programme need.
- Work location: selected staff must work under the Metropolitan Surveillance Unit in Pune; appointment elsewhere in PMC is not part of this notice.
- Language condition: the Senior Public Health Specialist must have studied Marathi for the prescribed marks at school level and must be able to use Marathi confidently.
- Selection discretion: PMC may change or cancel the process, and stronger qualifications or experience may receive preference when applications are assessed.
- Service undertaking: a selected person must execute the required undertaking on Rs. 500 bond paper before joining.
