PDJ Srinagar Class IV Recruitment 2026: Overview

Office of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar is filling Class IV roles in the courts of District Srinagar through Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2026. The recruitment brings together Process Server, Orderly and Chowkidar work under one notice, but the qualification and day-to-day duties differ by role. These are regular court-support positions for people who understand that reliability, record care and respectful public dealing are central to judicial work.

The notice is meant for domiciled residents of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. If you applied for the same posts under Notification No. 04 of 2024, you do not need to apply again; the court will consider that earlier application. The notified position may also change before the final selection if the court's actual staffing requirement changes.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Process Server: field-facing court work centred on delivering summons, notices and other judicial process to the correct person or address.
  • Orderly: courtroom and office support, including moving files, assisting court staff and helping the daily cause-list work run smoothly.
  • Chowkidar: watch-and-ward support for court premises, with attention to access, safety and timely reporting of unusual activity.

Post-wise Duties

Process Server

You will carry court process to the assigned address, record the delivery outcome and return the papers within the directed timeline. Accuracy in identifying recipients and documenting service matters because your report becomes part of the court record.

Orderly

You will support the courtroom and administrative office by carrying files, arranging papers and helping officers during working hours. Confidential handling of case material and punctual attendance are important parts of the role.

Chowkidar

You will keep watch over the assigned court building, monitor entry points and report any security or maintenance concern. Alertness during the allotted duty hours is the main expectation.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Domicile: You must hold a valid Jammu and Kashmir domicile certificate under the applicable UT rules.
  • Separate forms: Apply separately if you want to be considered for more than one post.
  • Earlier applicants: People covered by the earlier 2024 notice need not file a fresh form.
  • Interview travel: The court will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview or viva voce.
  • Schedule updates: Interview dates and venues will be announced publicly and on the District Court website; individual call letters will not be issued.
