OIL Electrician and Associate Engineer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Oil India Limited (OIL) is engaging a Contractual Electrician and Contractual Associate Engineer (Electrical) for its Field Headquarters at Duliajan. These assignments support electrical work at OIL installations, including testing and commissioning. The engagement is contractual, with shift work and on-call duties that can take you to remote locations.

Posts and Disciplines

• Contractual Electrician: Hands-on electrical work involving equipment checks, minor repairs, earthing connections and support for plant operation.
• Contractual Associate Engineer (Electrical): Electrical testing and supervisory support, with particular attention to safety and quality during installation and commissioning.

Post-wise Duties

Contractual Electrician

You will check motors, panels, wiring and light fittings, and help put minor faults right. Your work also includes earthing checks and reconnections, together with operational support for gas and diesel generators, load banks, batteries and backup power systems during testing and commissioning.

Contractual Associate Engineer (Electrical)

You will help test electrical equipment and check that installation and pre-commissioning work meets safety and quality standards. You will also supervise safe equipment operation and help troubleshoot motor feeders, starters and control wiring.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Domicile: This drive is for people domiciled in Assam or Arunachal Pradesh. Each advertised role is unreserved; disability and ex-servicemen provisions follow the stated government guidelines.
• Tenure: The initial contract lasts six months. OIL may extend it by another six months depending on departmental need, performance, conduct and medical fitness; the maximum total is one year.
• No regular appointment claim: The contract does not give you a right to permanent employment or regularisation at OIL.
• Work setting: Be prepared for difficult or hazardous work, shifts and on-call duty at remote installations. OIL can place you at a location chosen by the competent authority.
• Joining and exit: You must be ready to join promptly. OIL may allow a joining extension of up to fifteen days; either side can end the contract with fifteen days' notice.
• Other assignments: You cannot take up another assignment during this contract. Accommodation is your own responsibility, and you bear applicable taxes.
• Leave: The notice allows six paid leave days for a six-month engagement. The contract ends when its term expires without a separate expiry notice.
• Travel costs: OIL does not pay travel or daily allowance for attending, or reimburse joining expenses. Arrange your own travel and stay, including any extra stay if assessments continue.
• Conduct: False information, unfair means or canvassing can lead to rejection or later termination. OIL can cancel or postpone the engagement process, and disputes fall under Dibrugarh district court jurisdiction.

Application Submission Notes

Report to Duliajan Club, Oil India Limited, Duliajan for walk-in registration between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Late registration is not allowed. If the number attending exceeds the day's capacity, OIL may assess remaining registered applicants on subsequent days.
