NPC Project Executive Recruitment 2026: Overview
National Productivity Council (NPC) is engaging a Project Executive for industrial engineering consultancy work based in Chandigarh. NPC is an autonomous body under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Its consultancy, research and training activities support productivity across different sectors of the economy.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Contract duration: The initial engagement is for six months. An extension depends on your performance and the council's requirements, so continued engagement is conditional.
- Deployment: Chandigarh is the stated base. You may also work outside Chandigarh on project assignments, with boarding and lodging provided by the client in those cases.
- Fieldwork: The assignment includes project-specific studies across the country. You should be prepared for travel and interactions with stakeholders as part of the consultancy work.
- Employment status: This is a contractual engagement. It does not give you a right to regular appointment, absorption or regularisation with NPC or its associated organisations.
- Assignment rules: Working hours, leave, travel and daily allowance follow the NPC provisions applicable to the assignment.
- Termination: NPC may end the contract without notice for unsatisfactory performance, failure to carry out entrusted work or disciplinary concerns.
- Recruitment: The council may cancel or withdraw the advertisement. An offer can also be withdrawn if you cannot produce the required original records at joining.

Responsibilities
- Help plan industrial engineering consultancy assignments.
- Coordinate and support the execution of consultancy projects.
- Carry out project-specific field studies across the country.
- Interact with stakeholders using the agreed scope and methodology.
- Draft technical reports from project findings.
- Support training logistics and stakeholder communication.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Graduate or postgraduate degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Production Engineering from a recognised institution.
Required Skills
Technical report preparation; strong English, technical writing and formal correspondence; MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
