National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur (NIT Jamshedpur) Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

NIT Jamshedpur has released a notification (Advt. No. NITJSR/DEE/212/2026, dated 4 August 2026) for 1 Project Assistant post under a research project titled "Design and Development of AI Driven Portable Wireless Charging Pads for Agricultural Drones and Farm Equipment", sponsored by the Jharkhand Council on Science Technology and Innovation (JCSTI). This is a purely temporary, project-based position co-terminus with the project, with an initial appointment of 6 months extendable based on performance and fund availability. You will work under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Kundan Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, NIT Jamshedpur. Candidates with a background in power electronics, AI, ML or drone technology should apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Diploma / BCA / B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc. Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks in EE / EEE / ECE / Mechatronics / CSE / IT or equivalent.
• Desirable: Prior knowledge of power electronics, AI, ML and drone technology.
• You must make sure you meet all the eligibility criteria before applying — applications from ineligible candidates will not be considered.

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 30 years as on the last date of application.
• Age Relaxation: Given as per Government norms and to candidates with relevant experience.

Salary

• You will get a fellowship of Rs. 14,000 per month (consolidated).
• This is a project-based consolidated fellowship and does not carry additional government allowances since the post is purely temporary.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or for joining the position.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Done at the discretion of the Selection Committee based on your application.
2. Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be called (online or in-person, as notified separately).
3. Document Verification: Original documents relating to age, qualifications, certificates and mark sheets must be produced at the time of interview and joining.
