NII JRF CAR-T Cell Project Recruitment 2026: Overview
National Institute of Immunology (NII) is hiring a Junior Research Fellow (Project) for an Anusandhan National Research Foundation-sponsored study on improving chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy. The work sits at the meeting point of immunology, cancer research and gene engineering, so it suits someone who wants hands-on exposure to advanced cell-based research rather than a desk-only fellowship. You will work with the research group led by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Yadav and contribute to experiments designed to make CAR-T cells more effective.
The project is built around cell culture, flow cytometry and molecular biology. The notification places particular importance on practical experience with T-cell cultures, lentiviral vectors and flow-cytometry analysis software such as FlowJo. Familiarity with CRISPR/Cas9, mouse cancer models or bioinformatics tools can strengthen your profile, although these are supporting skills rather than a substitute for the core laboratory background.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Project tenure: The appointment is contractual for one year or the remaining project period, whichever is shorter at each engagement. The sponsored project itself is time-bound and may end earlier if the project closes.
- Accommodation: NII will not provide hostel or housing facilities, so you should plan your stay in or around Delhi independently.
- Interview mode: Shortlisted applicants may be interviewed online or offline. NII will not pay travel or daily allowance if you are called to attend in person.
- Category proof: If you claim SC, ST, OBC or PH status, identify the category clearly and keep valid documentary proof ready.
- Application scrutiny: Incomplete forms will not be considered, and canvassing in any form can disqualify your application.
- Laboratory fit: Your CV should make your experimental expertise easy to see, especially work involving immune cells, flow cytometry, cloning or gene-editing methods.
Application Submission Notes
Send the prescribed application format and your complete CV by email to rkyadav@nii.ac.in, clearly naming the CAR-T cell project in your message. Your CV should include your experimental skills, publications and the names of three referees, along with working email and phone details.
If you are shortlisted, take or send attested copies of your certificates as directed for the interview. The application form asks for your academic record, past experience, present employment and any national-level examination qualification, so check that every entry is complete and that examination passing dates are stated clearly.
